I never really thought much about speaking in tongues. One morning, after a long time in being cut-off from God (which He lovingly showed me the way back), I began speaking in tongues. I began crying (which I hadn't been able to do in almost 2 years) and saying words in different languages. I looked them up. Some Hebrew, some Sanskrit, others Aramaic. I felt the presence of God again, and my prayer time is spent in this language. In front of the church? Not sure if that's the point.

How long buddy can you keep Jesus confined to just being in a book? Jesus is giving hypocrites a warning (v.1-6), gives us the proper way to ask & receive from God (v.7-12), explains the narrow way or Christian life vs. the worlds way (v.13-14), warns us of false teachers & their "fruit" a.k.a. teachings (v. 15-20), His response to their claims of loyalty (v.21-23), and finally an admonition to listen to what He had just said & what would happen if you heeded or ignored His words (v.24-27).

Rem. that angels are higher life forms than we are according to scripture, so in essence what he is trying to get us to understand is that if he speaks in a lowly language (everyday slang) or a high language (proper/higher language) w/out love, he is a noisy gong. I never really thought much about speaking in tongues. One morning, after a long time in being cut-off from God (which He lovingly showed me the way back), I began speaking in tongues. I began crying (which I hadn't been able to do in almost 2 years) and saying words in different languages. I looked them up. Some Hebrew, some Sanskrit, others Aramaic. I felt the presence of God again, and my prayer time is spent in this language. In front of the church? Not sure if that's the point.

There is not much difference between these guys and your local church really.
You have all chucked the law claiming a different dispensation was created after the resurrection. So the OT is void and so are all of its requirements and promises, but interesting how the law regarding tithing somehow is still required.

the gift to speak in tongues in the spirit and the gift to translate the tongues that the spirit gives u or that tounges that others may speak. 1 corinthians 12:10 is what i am referring to. these are two of nine gifts mentioned in this passage.

Jesus is giving hypocrites a warning (v.1-6), gives us the proper way to ask & receive from God (v.7-12), explains the narrow way or Christian life vs. the worlds way (v.13-14), warns us of false teachers & their "fruit" a.k.a. teachings (v. 15-20), His response to their claims of loyalty (v.21-23), and finally an admonition to listen to what He had just said & what would happen if you heeded or ignored His words (v.24-27).

@buzzbbird I agree with you. In my opinion, i think those 'false preachers' are using this gift of the Holy Spirit for their own pride.. I just can't say when i see people fall down like a fish on the ground that 'this is the Holy Spirit moving'.. it's just wierd. I don't see the Prince of peace doing this or the apostles. Holy Spirit is moving inside us and maybe we are feeling it and we start to dance or clap our hands, talk louder, praising louder or something, but not in such a wild way.

Rem. that angels are higher life forms than we are according to scripture, so in essence what he is trying to get us to understand is that if he speaks in a lowly language (everyday slang) or a high language (proper/higher language) w/out love, he is a noisy gong. We do this all the time in English-exaggerate to make a point. If angels have their own language, what is it - Angelese? Tee hee hee =)

They're for a sign to unbelivers, such as these men who where coming into Jerusalem for the feast of Pentacost. They heard the disciples speaking the worderful works of God by men who didn't know the visiting pilgrims language. As a result many were saved by this miraculous sign from heaven! Paul's ref. to lang. of angels in 1 Cor. 13:1 is a hyberbole or exaggeration to prove his point re: love. =)

Just like the Pentecostals in your video, the Baptist church was also created by a man, and is operated under a creed written by men. Also like the Pentecostals, the Baptist church is a denomination; your creed is just different from theirs. But both are uninspired and unscriptural.

Speaking in tongues are for a sign to unbelievers - as in Acts 2:8 to bring non-belivers to salvation. Because they will hear you speaking the wonderful works of God in their language; you don't know naturally. In the church is fine too as long as there is an interpreter/interpreation. Pls. explain what tri-partide means & what does that have to do w/ tongues? =)

The tithe is always food, there were many tithes at least 6 kinds of tithes in the O.T. & all of them food. Some of the tithes were for the TITHER to eat in Jerusalem during the feasts of the Lord. Do modern pastors teach everything about the tithe or only what they want you to hear? The Levitical preisthood is done away with, Jesus is our High Priest; Paul had a real job! =)

they are of God ; Paul said he (Paul) spoke in tongues and was glad that he had the gift of the Holy Spirit. HOWEVER I must agree with this video b/c people are taking it lightly and speaking it outloud. It causes confusion.
So having said that yes, tongues are of God. But we must stay closely with Jesus and pray for discernment.

You need to study alot more closely on speaking in other tongues before you make such strong statements against it. I agree that the Church has gotten out of order in alot of areas, we are supposed to do all things in decency and order but don't slam something you have not experienced and say it isn't of God until you are sure. I have been saved out of a life of the deepest sin and I sought for the Holy Spirit. I was a baby believer, He gave me the gift and it is of Him.
