I have to say that the trailer narrator really doesn't fit to this trailer. I would have liked to hear maybe an old chinese man speaking it in his native language accompanied with subtitles. But then again, they did market the edited movies (as a single movie) to westerners as a John Woo blockbuster which is a damn shame. Now I am left with two movies condensed into one 142min in length instead of 2 separate movies that are double the lenght.

I like the story about the Romance of Three Kingdoms but i think some of the visualization are bad. If i were Cao Cao's Admiral i would shoot the decoy ship using flaming arrows not normal arrows because when you try to fire upon a group of enemy ships covered by fog its better to use flaming arrow so the burned enemy ships can be my target to shot upon. At least my arrows wont be taken as free donation to the enemy because it'll sink along with the burned ships.

@FinalReqiuem101 While I agree, just want to correct you that Hercules fictional and part of Greek mythology, whereas the movie 300 was based on actual historical events (the battle of Thermopylae). Though, in reality, it wasn't just 300 warriors. Leonidas actually sent his army back from the front, leaving around 1500 men, 300 of which were Spartans, hence the name of the graphic novel and film.

Partly because this is one of my Favorited movies, partly because this is not just like any Chinese movie, this movie is base of a story that we (Chinese) all grow up with. so to say this sucks is like saying the story of troy sucks. now Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is a very sophisticated movie that is probably beyond your age. go back after ur older maybe you will view it differently.

Personally I think the best thing about this movie is the cloths and war scene, very approperate, more precise than most TV shows or game. And I'm ok with the distinct story plot.

Many chinese words they said in the movie have only been popular for no more than two decades. The lines should have been a little more obscure, because the story plot is derived from the book Romance of the Three Kindom, which was written in a half-mordern half-ancient form. It's kinda like Shakespeare. I'm not really asking for ancient chinese, that'll be too hard.

@roytarek This movie lacks true history. Good vs. evil is heavily romanticized like in the novel. In reality it's simply regional political regimes fighting each other for survival, none of them were loyal to the last Han emperor. It's also not about Cao Cao's personal goal of domination. It was his dream to unify China after decades of civil war. He never became Emperor himself. The real Cao Cao was a brilliant military strategies, poet, calligraphy artist and philosopher.

@roytarek also, both the novel and movie widely exaggerate the magnitude of Cao Cao's defeat and South's victory. There is no historical evidence that Cao Cao committed more than 200k men. Even the exact war site cannot be located. Also, he easily regrouped after the defeat and went on to conquer Ma Chao in the far West and his children nonetheless went on to unify China. This cannot be possible if his defeat at Chibi was as huge as the movie and novel made it out to be.
