she is fantastic during the team comp

what if her coach raped her before the all around AFTER the team comp and that is why she fell apart in AA.

maybe by EF she had accepted it or did what many rape victims did: pretended it never happened.

she may not have even fully understood what happened at the time.

It is so cool-you can see Olga and the choreographer (does anyone know her name??) working out the choreo for the routine that would win Olga Olympic Gold at Munich in 1972 for her floor exercise. Ot but I have always felt choreographers should also get a medal when their routines win.

It is a commonly known fact that when she was 13 or 14 her trainer raped her. That was the end of the cooperation between imo the greatest female gymnast ever and a magical trainer. Happens so often ... I watched her live during the Munich olympics and we just didn't believe what we saw. One must also realise that she totally fumbled one of her routines on oneven bars by touching the ground with her legs. Thatone hardly is ever shown.

That doesn't quite make sense - Korbut was 17 in 1972 when she first dazzled at the Olympics. So she was obviously doing okay with her coach then. Although she did mess up during the Munich Olympics, it was in 1976 Montreal that Korbut really fell apart. By then you could see the effects of the exploitation.

There's a new(er) documentary with Olga's account about the rape. Its in english, and on youtube. She sais it happened just before Munich and that he worked for years to prepare her for it. I think she didn't fully realise what happened to her when it did.

If it happened Olga has stated that it happened prior to the Munich Games-not Montreal. Whether it makes sense or not-it is Olga's allegations and her story as far as I know hasn't changed. Renald Knysh denies it all of course. Only they and maybe God know for sure.

To state that 'it is a known fact' that Olga was raped by her coach is not right-no one knows really for a fact except for Olga and Knysh. She has alleged rape-and he has denied it. He never went to court to be proven innocent or guilty. I personally believe Olga-but I'm just not sure. There is no way of being sure.
