  • They still have this song played at Epcot but It's by the African musicians(who are amazing) but it's not the same.

  • God I miss the 90's :)

  • the 3 people who dislike this dont deserve to live...

  • Beautiful. One of the best songs ever played by an epic corp.

Why did they stop? Bring them back! And why do people walk by? Can they not notice the awesomeness?

  • And this is why i joined marching band...now i'm currently in DCI Cavaliers.

    Bring Future Crops Back!

  • outstanding

  • This is sweet! I've even heard of these guys before today.

  • love this rendition

  • who are those people that just walk by this?!?!?!?

  • Sad that they don't exit anymore.

    :(

  • 1:25-1:39 is EPIC!!!

  • @mikedaguy 0:00 - 5:37 is epic, too. just sayin :D

  • Back when they performed, im sure the outfits were kinda cool looking, im sure theyde have changed it up if the corp was still around today, tear tear

  • Don't get me wrong. I think the Future Corps is awesome. They're impressive musicians. Saw them live a couple times, but couldn't Disney have come up with better outfits? ouch!

  • rich viano on the basses...

  • The triple bass drum player is Paul Collins from south Boston, MA.

  • Yo, "ysmyscreenblue", as a college instructor I have to give you an F- for not reading what was written. I said that the DCI bands are probably the best musical organizations in the world. Where I'm from, preciseness is an important thing. Kanstal had to pull out old tools and dies to produce the latest set of two valve "G" bugles for the US Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, "The Commandant's Own". That's because the Marine Commandant wants a real drum and bugle corps. DCI has extraordinary bands!

  • DCI has corps not bands...

  • Funny you should say something like that. Are you aware that they are now using band instruments instead of bugles? So in FACT, YES THEY ARE BANDS. Gone are the glory days of the G bugle. Wanna know why this ensemble sounds so great, 3 things. CHOPS by some of the best players in the business, the KEY of G sounds better than Bb to the ear, and the increased range you can get by playing on an instrument keyed in G is the reason the Sops sound as if they're in the stratosphere.

  • And yet they are still Drum Corps, not Drum Band....Bugles are gone...So what? Ive played Sop before...I prefer my Bb. Easier to keep in tune when you are screaming and playing loud.

  • But NOT easier to get to double C. Which is my point. The harmonies are stretched farther due to the rest of the instruments being so much lower. Tuning at extreme range and volumes is effected more by mouthpiece than instrument, you know that. Longer horn = larger mouthpiece. The reason so many screamers love the classic 3C.

  • Brass and percussion!!!! It doesn't get much better than this. We have mini-corps that compliment the bigger D&Bs and school/college bands. Go to "Swing House Sampler" and see a bunch of 1950's drum corps folks along with a number of of high school band members do some great jazz numbers. Like the Future Corps we are doing our thing!

  • ça déchire!!!

  • the triple bass drum is more impressive than the trapset they had later, that dude is sick

  • one of my favorite band tunes

    and my favorite corp

  • and Disney canceled this why? I love Disney but not one of their smarter moves to lose musicianship of this quality, not to mention using them as ambassadors to colleges, schools, etc...

  • you're tellin' me! these guys are godly!!!

  • @JacketTrombone Disney cancelled this group but contracted pretty much the same musicians into the Main Street Philharmonic which is pretty much Future Corps but with different uniforms and I think the brass for the MSP use Bb horns instead of G Bugles, but STILL these musicians put on an outstanding performance today as The Main Street Philharmonic.

  • nice one man bass line solo

  • Yes please!

  • awesome cover, awesome

  • haha... this made me laugh. When I hear good musicians playing so amazing and with very few people it just makes me so happy... I love this post!!!

  • hmm lets see bugleman i want you to see if you can try out and best any of the Cavaliers, Blue Devils, SCV. any one of those KIDS are mor talented than you. you forget they are only 16-21. MARK ZUASS is playing in this band you fucking moron he is a PROFFESIONAL. they all have earned the title DCI for a reason. they have a passion for the love of music they play.

  • Hey Pisley, You're a fan of brass bands not drum and bugle corps. Try making great music with a single or twin valve BUGLE as does the US Marine Drum and Bugle Corps or the corps of old. Phantom and the Cavvies, et al, are playing b flat band instruments just like any high school group does. Using the name "drum and bugle corps" doesn't change things. There's no doubt that these DCI bands are provbably the most talented musical organizations in the world, but drum corps...THEY ARE NOT!!!

  • I do not know much about the bugle, other than the fact that they moved on from them. I personally think they sound bad. My only real experience with them is the solo from Phantom of the Opera, (SCV1989). I was wondering why the hell it sounded so bad before being told it was a bugle.

  • LOL! ... This thread is very entertaining.

  • Это очень крутые перцы...я такой игры не слышал никогда)))

  • They sound that good outdoors, while marching, through a crappy camcorder mic? WOW.

  • hahaha. I love your playing, the song, and the soloists especially impressed me. However, for such a small area I don't believe they should even try these pathetic drill moves they are doing. And they march flat footed and mark time with their toes? Maybe just a different style of marching I guess...

  • It's called making bank, who cares how they march, Future Corps was one of Disney's best entertainments and it is a shame they are no longer around.

  • Do your research on Future Corp, they were probably one of the best "corps" ever.

  • What makes them so great? They play absolutely superbly, as I noted earlier. I was simply stating that in this size area you can't really pull off any cool drill moves at all, and these drill moves are pretty lame, I don't believe that you can argue with that.

  • Why are you so concerned with the drill of a Disney entertainment group? Are they not entertaining? Is this real drum corps? So do they have to follow the rules of drum corps? They can do whatever they want with their own art form.

  • AMEN!

  • you do know that all these guys were in drum corp before doing future corp. cause i know a few people in there and there still teaching drum corp, and touring the country performing and doing clinics. and also saying your a fan of "real" drum corp is pathetic cause if you were, you could obviously tell these guys were in drum corp.

  • How is it obvious that all these guys were in a drum corp before?

  • Where else do you think they got the sound quality, marching skills, and playing ability from?

  • You don't need to be in a drum corp to play well. Playing ability comes from practice, time, and devotion. And as for marching ability, this is very simple. Any of the best marchers from a high school band can handle this sort of drill.

  • i personally know their band leader and the triple bass drum player and i can tell you billpisley that THEY ALL CAME FROM DRUM CORPS!! clear enough??

  • Agreed..... Playing ability comes from practice, time and devotion. I'll add raw talent too. All of which applies to the guys in FC.

As for the drill, they weren't competing. Small group, small area to perform (with guests all over) and no markings. Oh and multiple shows a day (many times different). Nothing wrong with what they were doing.

Oh and G bugles do have a distinct sound. Part of the beauty of drum corps of old. I like them much better than Bb horns.

  • I marched Magic in the early 90's. Our staff included some of these guys. They all have corps background, that's a fact. They come from a variety of corps too, so it's not just Phantom, or Devils guys. They were extremely talented so say the least. You had to be the best of the best to play with this group.

  • You're kidding, right? What is a real corps? Through the years, the "not drum corps" argument has come up. Where is the line drawn?

    Amplified commentary (Cadets)?

    Bb horns?

    3-valve G bugles?

    Moving equipment to the pit?

    2-valves (both piston)?

    Marching/drill style (on a field)?

    Competition?

    Parade only?

Can't agree with you. FC had every right to be called a corps. One of the best groups Disney had. You don't like? Don't watch. They were great with 11 horns, 3 drummers & little room.

  • You boys 're KICKIN' !

  • Man I love this song. And I love how you guys really act like your enjoying yourselves while you play.

  • damn these cats are TIGHT!

  • I like how you used the jazz font just like on the lead sheets for this tune :P

  • I played this with a DrumCorp in Saint Louis waaaaaaay back in 1990 !!!!!!! Brings back memories !!!!! I decided to become a professional french horn player and composer as a direct result of being in DrumCorps !!!!!!!!! =))

  • I've had about a total of 4 eargasms tonight listening to this madness! =p

  • Awesome!!

  • This actually brought a tear to my eye, great brass sounds from a time not so long ago when the world wasn't so dark. Thanks for the great music!

  • Wow! How great it is to hear such wonderful music. Loved you guys in the 80's wish you were still there. Thanks for taking me back!

  • This vid was old school...

  • wow, thats awesome. I cant believe i havent seen this video before now, ive seen all the FC stuff but not this :p

Awesome, one of their best songs i think

  • Bitchin! Simply, bitchin!

  • There's two things I love about this video. The Song and the Corps Performing.

  • love the bass drum solo

    sweet

  • in a war-torn world of deceit and distrust, its good to see people like the future corps spreading the joy of music...and pretty darn good music for that matter - you can't go wrong with a well-played birdland

  • yes!MF arrangement..the best band future corps..By Bob Franklin!!one of the best Band Leader!!!

  • Is this Maynard Ferguson's arrangement? It sounds amazing! Great job on an old classic tune!

  • i think it is the mf arrangement

  • You are super correct. It is the MF arrangement, you can tell by the little "fanfare" at the beginning.

  • it is i have his version. almost exact copy. absolutely beautiful

  • @timpanista Yes it is....

  • Future Corps are amazing! Thanks for putting these videos up!
