  • The Arkham City robin is the kind of badass brawler reimagining that we need in The Dark Knight Rises, or as an easter egg/after credits scene or atleast something. Robin does not have to be a useless child! Look up arkham city robin on google images.

  • Clips from Equilibrium good movie

  • rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrroooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooobbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

  • ES REAL

  • Christian Bale has stated that he would not play Batman if Robin was in any of these 3 films. Christopher Nolan agreed not to include Robin while it would take away the dark premise of his series. ( source imdb )

  • why do you use Tim Drake instead of Dick Grayson?

  • ... that's fuckin' awesome

  • I think Jason Todd's robin was in the film it could work because it adds that type of tragedy that could happen at the end and that would make batman even more dark and sadder

  • meh. Its Grayson or no robin

  • a knightwing movie would be cool

  • Nolan admits that a lot of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight is based on Year One, The Long Halloween, The Killing Joke, and the Joker's original appearance in the comics. If he and David S. Goyer can look at those comics, why can't they also read Dark Victory and see that Dick Grayson is Bruce Wayne happening all over again?

  • They wouldnt have to make robin a little boy(if they include him that is) because in both the animated and comic book series i believe all of the robins eventually become young men, and if thier looking to keep the realism they should just use Jason Todd's story coz he dies anyway, that would mean that they didnt have to use robin for the full movie.

  • If this was real I would die of happiness c:

  • Robin won't be appearing in the next Batman movie, nor should he for that matter. I mean, its not like he's been completely left out of every adaptation of Batman, he was in the serials of the 40's as well as the 60's television series and its feature film, he was in Batman Forever and the dreaded Batman & Robin. Plus, he's appeared in almost every animated series based on Batman. Both Nolan and Bale have said on many occasions that they want to keep their Batman solo for the sake of realism.

  • @Zepp900 I think it's funny, subjectively, that they find one man alone waging a war on the crime problem of an entire city more realistic than someone with a partner, or even a legion of affiliates to help him. No one says Robin has to be a little boy, after all. It's not like Joker wore make up in the comics, remember.

  • I don't hate Robin. In fact, I think its somewhat of an injustice to leave him out as it was his introduction that helped boost the sales of the then-failing Batman comics and was a popular character among the younger readers but Nolan doesn't want him. Regardless, I do feel he should have him appear as a cameo or something but other than that, I can't see Robin fitting with Nolan's take on Batman.

  • @Zepp900 Why not?

  • Because Nolan would only butcher his character if he was forced to introduce him. Remember how Venom, a rival and occasional ally to Spider-Man as well as a popular anti-hero, was forced upon Sam Raimi since Venom is loved by comic book geeks the world the over? Well, he completely dismissed Venom's importance as a character and reduced him to a lame 15 mintute cameo. The same could happen to Robin if the director dislikes him and is forced to use a character he cares nothing for.

  • @Uptomyknees Nolan has cited that his Batman is too young to be taking on a protégé.

  • @gunneryunagirl As you can see by my trailer, this is not a willing partner situation, but rather the Tim Drake scenario, wherein someone blackmails their way into being Robin.

  • @Uptomyknees Oh, hey, I think it's a cool premise, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying NOLAN's reason for not taking on Robin. I, personally, would love having Robin in the Nolanverse.

  • @gunneryunagirl Right on. I just realized that I should update this video to include my name, since my youtube channel will be my geek cred. I'm suddenly googleable!

  • the interrupting color bars were more of an annoyance than anything else.

but the symbol at the end wasn't bad.

  • this is actually pretty good

  • Cool, I still hope they use Grayson but Tim would work too...Robin could totally work in the Nolanverse, why do people gotta be Robin Haters?

  • I don't care who plays Robin, it would be GAY! it's bad enough there's one guy running round in tight spandex, looking like a bad BDSM movie... but a partner.... that's just.....taking it to a whole new level. who could take that seriously? by the way, Eddie Murphy for RIDDLER!

  • it was kinda nice

  • It could work, as long as they don't have Chris O'Donnel. And take out the Robin "Boy Wonder" shit...this Batman is darker and that is exactly what Robin needs to be if they're gonna fit him inside Batman 3

  • Tin Drake? Wasnt he the second robin? What about Dick Grayson?

  • For all Robin related questions, go ahead and Youtube search "Drunk Comic Book History: The Robins."

  • @ThePowerReturns he was the third robib jason todd was the second

  • @unjockey

    ohhh okay thanks unjocky!! :)

  • fuckin idiot its fake

  • fucking fake

  • lol duh

  • @HELLSPAWN1973 And they say Batman's the world's greatest detective.

  • hahaha idiot you had scenes from running scared and that wasn't anyone like Robin that was Chester Bennington from the Linkin Park music video for Shadow of the day.

  • ...Did youread the description?

I say that. Please don't call me an idiot.

  • nope

  • VERY NICE

  • I could totally play robin in the next movie,I haven't done any proffesional acting but that is what I intend to do.but,if they put robin in the next batman movie, they shouldnt start with tim drake.he was to nice.maybe mix jason todd with dick grayson and then it would fit the way the movies are.

  • i loved how bruce felt connected with dick greyson ... who was the first robin..... and i think that 2 actors played him really well.... Burt Ward and Chris O'donnel... if nolan decides to put robin.. why not chris??.. that kid has potencial... and well i got to said that i hated so much that batman and robin movie but the only actor who get me was chris.. and the funniest thing is that chris looks like burt when he was young.... so..what you think??

  • its the fault of grayson if people think that batman & robin are gays. im a big fan of robin, but that true

  • why drake wouldn't grayson be more truthful 2 the comics

  • WTF man. My ears all hurts after that buzzing ):-(

  • It was well done, but 2 problems, 1 it should be Dick not Tim because these movies actually follow canon, and 2 I hate robin so I'm praying against it. But it was very well edited, just maybe a little less buzzes

  • luckily nolan agrees with you to an extent, nolans not putting robin in for several films if ever

  • Yeah I'm happy about that. I think the character is rarely useful if ever. The only time I like him is when he dies.

  • poor todd

  • That little shit deserved it. The fans don't vote to kill a character they like lol. All he ever did was mouth off and run around like an obnoxious little kid.

  • actually most people who voted to kill todd were under the uninformed impression that it was still dick grayson and were curious if dc would do it

  • not from what I've heard in my copy of Death in the family...really bad story that is only saved by robin dying.

  • i havent gotten around to reading it myself so im not entirely sure in my information, btw im curious to hear your opinion on the most recent robin

  • Do you mean Tim Drake or Damien? Either way I hate em'. My opinion of robin is one summed up perfectly by Joker in "Patient J" "I've got nothing against kids, but kid's in tights?" I mean Batman is the only good guy who does look like a bad guy, and Robin is a "Horrible understudy" the suit has always been bad, and the character motivation rarely makes sense. Robin was a throw in character that has just barely been able to stay around.

  • you do not hold back do you, lol, you make a strong point

  • lol no. You triggered my rant mode. Sorry.

  • its perfectly fine

  • I agree, the imagination has no limit. Yet at the same time, transferring comic genre to film is and has never been easy, way more bad films than good. Yet, doesn't some weight need to be given to the two current 'experts' on Batman, Bale and Nolan, on what works cinematically and what doesn't? Sometimes Hollywood DOES get it right. The last attempt at Robin was...nuff said. Remember not only does the writer/director/actor have to get it right, the GENERAL audience has to get it.

  • Wow, its called reading. That was the original reason for Robin. I didn't say that 'he' wasn't handled better later. Again, as a cinematic vehicle the presence of Robin takes away the 'loner' pathos of BW/BM. Burton, Keaton, Bale have said the same thing. Kane admitted the reason for Robin years ago. Batman also killed in the beginning, doesn't mean he has to or should now. Or do you read the comics?

  • What's bizarre to me about this argument is that implies some kind of creative limitation on the film; Robin has to be a little boy? Robin has to be campy? If you watched my video, you'll see that was clearly not the case in my iea.

Joker does not wear "make up." Ra's Al Ghul did not train Batman. Anything DONE WELL works; there's no kind of universal rule that says because two actors and a director didn't want something, it means it couldn't possibly work.

    :)

  • the movie series has never made robin a young boy as they did in the series (animated not the god awefull live action tv series) theres a certain darker aspect that nolan and burton and whoever the hell directed the last two in the burton series tried to capture and young children dont really fit that mold

  • Bale has already stated he won't do a Batman with a Robin. Robin was an admitted plot point in the comics to draw in younger readers. Writers have admitted so, since other characters had sidekicks. Robin takes away the melancholy of Batman and makes him camp. It doesn't work for cinema

  • So I assume you don't read the comics, then?

  • batmans dark robins happy, thats allways been the dynamic, i actually aplaud the damien robin and dick batman idea, though its not really batman without bruce

  • i giv eit 4 stars only because u should use dick grayson or make tim drake a kid. but nice job

  • if they do a third do you guys think they should do something like gotham knight set between tdk and 3

  • that would be cool

  • Dick Grayson FTW!!!

  • i think robin in batman 3 would be the best thing since the dark knight. i loved the robin in batman forever and batman and robin. ps i just got like 4 years of the old batman and robin newspaper comics in a big tpb for 10 bucks also the first 4 issues of the robin comic series.

  • introducing robin would be good, but they'd need to do it VERY carefully for it to work

  • the last person batman trusted and even thought about bringing into the game got half his face blown off, i think VERY carefull is an understatement

  • here's how i think it should go something like first dick and have it be dark then in the 4th movie (if they have a fourth) jason but have batman take him home see his mother dead take him in and have him be robin for 5 minutes then die introduce tim then (if there is a 5th) have tim's father make him quit (later come back as red robin) then stepahnie she'll die then become spoiler then batgirl and then batman's son dwane i think his name is

  • damian and that would be an interesting plan but i really dont think robin belongs in this series, not for a few fliks

  • Aye there making new batman movie isit? tht be awesome!!!!

  • to be honest the maIN CHARCTERS I WNAT TO SEE IN THE THIRD MOVIE ARE KILLER CROC AND ROBIN

  • killer croc would be cool but honestly after what they did with scarecrow and joker what do you expect him to be like

  • my opinion on introducing robin to the Nolan films isn't wat most would expect. I think it should be Dick Grayson, who (like many others) was inspired by batman to fight crime. but unlike the batman-posers from Dark Knight, Dick will go by Nightwing (byepassing the Robin stage). Nightwing will serve more as Batman's rival than a partner, but would help him at the end.

  • best idea for introducing dick iv seen so far, though im curious how litteral you are when you say rival, we talking teen titans red x or just a scared orphan boy trying to show his hero he deserves respect by showing him up

  • Pretty good dude. Screw they punks who are bitching about the order of Robins. it's like bitching about the order of the Batmobile, just not needed.

Lets remember kids, Nolan's films are not canon!

  • and tim drake was a kid o.o

  • shouldnt it be dick grayson before tim drake?

  • Great work I believe tha way robin could be in it. COOL!!!

  • no offense, but that sounds a little dark, to be tim drake.

  • Dick Grayson came first. Then Tim Drake

  • I think you need to look at the video responses to this video before you assume to tell me the order of the robins, cutie.

  • grayson then jason todd who died and then tim drake.

  • why The singer from Linkin park if i may ask?

  • Footage of him doing what I needed him to be doing.

  • Robin was fucking bullshit -.- he is boring -.-

  • So is Batman.

  • It's all about context and execution. Batman was no more a silly idea than what writers implemented into the character over the years, just as Robin has had his fair share of good stories, Batman has had his bad.

  • Actually, this sounded more like the Riddler to me, but then again, Riddler and this version of Tim Drake would play well of each other in this situation, I would think.

  • Definitely. In my vision, they'd both have the identity of Batman, and be playing against eachother; with Riddler trying to use it to "control" Batman, and Tim using it to try to force Batman to take him on as a partner/pupil.

Ultimately, Batman outsmarts Tim, but Riddler outsmarts Batman, leading to Tim having to make a rescue, earning, rather than "stealing," his place as Batman's partner.

  • I'd watch it.

  • sounds kinda like the burton series 3rd movie

  • i was really against robin beind in it, but you've done that so well and convincingly you've proved me wrong;

nolan said the main reason was he's still trying to depict a young batman so he doesn't really want him seeming matured enough to be a mentor; he still wants batman to be learning which is a fair point i think.

most likely? riddler is kinda obvious at this point i guess

  • wow dude this is actually quite good, execution was not really all there but i like the concept

    good job bro

  • sorry i exceeded the character count, to finish my sentence though:

is actually a grudge held against the poor boy wonder for so many years now.

  • the reason Bale has a problem w/ robin is that he tried for the role of robin for batman forever and batman and robin but he got rejected and then when new batman movies were also rejected they asked Bale to play Batman for a Purposed batman vs superman movie but Bale said no and the so did the guy for superman and so it was never made and then they asked Bale to do Batman Begins, he said yes, but said he would quit if they added robin. he says he is trying to make a new image for batman but it

  • no shit?

  • yah its tru

  • wow... he really is a total ass if thats true... amazing actor and a very good batman... but still an ass

  • although i hate ROBIN and i hate him in batman universe but i liked the dark side and the good speech of robin in that trailer....and the robin bird at the end of the trailer is a good shot..

    nice work man ;)

  • very unlikely cause if Robin was put into a batman movie Christian Bale said he would quit. Oh yea may sound strange to me but has anyone though of Matt Damon as the Riddler I know it sounds strange and stupid but I just got the idea, I watched Bourne Identity today and he just came into my head as the riddler and no he doesn't have to look like an exact Riddler Comic just make him like Two-Face in the last one he goes crazy. I would like to see Black Mask though or Penguin.

  • his exact words were he would lock himself in his trailer and not leave

they havnt even written the script yet let alone started choosing villains.

Nolan said that he wouldnt use any villains that have already been done in batman 3. So if he keeps to his word (like he has always done) then that means no riddler.

I wanna see black mask becasue I have a crime lord fetish

  • black mask would be good, id like to see harley avenging mista j, or killer croc with that skin disorder they used in the animated movie, or possibly fireflie, he'd be pretty simple to do

  • why tim drake?

  • I felt his origin could most easily be twisted into something suitable for Nolan's Batman.

  • oh, i see

i liked it by the way

  • Awesome idea for Batman 3!

  • Shia LaBeouf would make a good robin

  • half of me says hell yes the other half wants to slap you o.o

  • "this is time drake...and I know who you are" man it sounds so good that if nolan was planning to put robin in the movie, he should use that line!!

  • Robin won't really be in TDK 3 because this is a younger bats.

  • that didnt even seem real i had my doubts right when the video started cutting then you had a scene from the dark knight trailer way to fail

  • (pst it says it's fake in the description)

  • wow.. you just described batman forever lol

  • fake fake fake loser

  • (pst hey it says it's fake in the description)

    :)

  • tim drake would not be the first robin it's dick grayson sorry bout spelling

  • wut the fuck is this its totaly fake

  • Comment removed

  • every one go to the joker blogs he is the best joker ever

  • ive heard they r not gonna put robin in the next batman film

  • as long as nolan is directing there is no robin. nolan wants to direct a young version of batman.

  • it will never be a true remake with out robin. i for one like the old 90s series better. joker should have looked like something in that new batman game. robin could work. next movie should be about two face and where he kills robins parents. robin goes dark and wants two face dead. robin should be a teen as well.

  • 1. two face is dead in nolans eyes

    2. this isnt a remake. its its own take, i real life view on an unreal series

  • not bad for a fanmade one,

  • You've proved nothing.

  • Fucking awesome.

  • Tim Drake? Lame.

  • My version of Drake is a sociopathic prodigy, mainly sticking to the shadows. He works primarily by manipulating ignorant, violent street dealer Jason Todd and bad-ass rookie cop Dick Grayson.

Three seperate units coming together to form Robin; a triumvirate, not an individual.

  • OMG!!!!! that is awesome!!! how in the hell did you some up with that!?

  • where did they get the Robin voice over? pretty cool if you ask me

  • I wrote it.

  • James Bond... Tarzan... Godzilla... Star Trek... Superman... and, of course, Batman himself...

  • o.k. if your robin is going to be a rough type of guy why not make him Jason Todd, i mean after he returned from his death he went off to be the red hood i mean it also leaves room for you too kill him off as well, think about it

  • Jason would be in my world, but as a pawn of Tim Drake. Technically, he would be a Robin, but as a member of a "team" of three.

  • Nope. Robin would not work in Nolan's universe. Batman is still in his beginnings and bringing in Robin anytime soon would be stupid, if at all. And this video didn't prove anything.

  • Wow. I'm torn now. I rather there be no Robin, but if it's something like this, I think I could live with it, maybe be happy. Crap... so long as there is no "Holy insert-strange-statement-here, Batman!" and he isn't wearing tights... and he's just as badass as Batman... aw, man! I dunno!

    T_T

Awesome video, though, very, very cool.

  • Fuck tights. Stolen ,retrofitted batman body armor.

  • I like, I like.

Reading your pitch, it sounds like it could use a little refining, but I like the idea. Fingers crossed someone important sees this... it might help nudge a decision.

    :)

  • i think this video shows how a "robin" character could play a role in the next dark knight movie. at the end of the dark knight batman becomes the villain and most likely goes into hiding. someone, like the robin character u are portraying here, could obsess over him and want to help bring him back. very nicely done

  • You nailed it. Exactly my take.

  • so your saying that your "robin" is not one man (im referring to the comments u made below) he is a group of men? like a team?

  • Okay, here's the pitch:

Batman goes underground, but "weird" crime in Gotham is still on a steady rise. Gifted techie Tim Drake, a cold moral objectivist, deduces Batman's identity and steals Batman tech from Wayne Towers; of course, Bruce can't quite report that stolen to the cops.

But his hunt for Tim reveals the theft to merely be bait; Tim has a bigger plan. Using the underground connections of police snitch Jason Todd, and the department connections of bad ass rookie cop Dick Grayson-

  • (continued)

-he has created a second vigilante for Gotham, called Robin, that functions primarily during day light hours. The three men function as one unit; Tim is the brains, Dick is the brawn, and Jason is the lethal street smarts. They take turns wearing a modified suit of batman armor, depending on what the mission requires.

However, as the movie goes on (and The Riddler takes the entire city hostage), Tim realizes he can't control Jason anymore. Tim, against Dick's advice, decides-

  • (continued)

-to attempt to blackmail Bruce Wayne into accepting them as his partners in keeping order in Gotham.

Ultimately, Todd goes bad, the Riddler pushes things to the breaking point, and Batman is forced to accept Tim and Dick as his allies.

Riddler is beaten by Tim and Batman, and Jason and Dick have a brutal fight (orchestrated by Tim) that ends in Jason being gunned down by the cops.

Bruce accepts Tim as "Robin," and deploys Dick to Bludhaven to serve as Nightwing.

    That's it.

  • that sounds awesome. i also think u should try to get this idea u have to someone 'important' so they could take a look at it. u have a great and well thought out idea. i personally think it could work in the next batman, it could be the side story in the the movie, like how harvey dent became two-face in the dark knight, great job. continue with the idea, make some other videos about it. like a photoshoped robin suit, a robin logo, anything. i would love to see more about this from u.

  • U can't just kill off Jason Todd, you'd have a ton of people that would hate you forever.

Don't get me wrong, Tim and Dick are fine, just Jason breaks all the rules. Who doesn't love that?

And although it follows the basic Tim Drake blackmail idea, gahhh, you need to read more comic books....

  • i swear some of that footage was a linkin park video :P

  • nope, this does not work one bit

  • Where did he get the "Scarecrow" footage from?

It was cool. I never saw him with a hat in this series before.

  • NO ROBIN IN THIS BATMAN !!!

  • Nicely done Max

  • Robin can't be in the new film...Bale is portraying a young Batman

  • Bruce Wayne was really young in "Batman Forever" (Val Kilmer)...and it had Robin...

  • But having Tim Drake robin in nolan's films wouldn't make sense

  • okay... After Nolan is done directing the Batman series I think that frank miller should carry on and then start bringing in some characters that wouldn't neccessarily be in Nolans Batman movie world. Some unreal characters maybe like Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Clayface etc

  • I'm thinking... NO.

Do we really want Sir WHORESWHORESWHOREsWHORES himself rampaging through Gotham? True, the city's got its share of one-shot prostitutes already, but...

  • I don't quite understand.

  • Sorry-- My post should have been a reply to someone who suggested bringing in Frank Miller. I just don't think his, uh... 'vision' is really necessary, that's all. The trailer itself, I liked.

  • The "WHORESWHORESWHORES" is some stupid Internet meme from 4chan about how Frank Miller puts prostitutes in his stories. Funny how Frank Miller was one of the biggest influences on modern Batman, as well as Nolan's films.

  • not to bad

  • Very "Cloverfield"

An interesting take on Robin. I'm not sure how loyal to the comics it is, but what ever.

  • feeling good???

  • I thought this was really well done. Sure as hell made me think that there is a chance for Robin. But we shall see.

  • wow that was really good. I was actually like, holy crap is that real!?!?

  • This was actually very well made! LOVED IT!

I agree that Robin might fit well into the Nolanverse.

AND BRING BACK THE RIDDLER FOR CHRIST'S SAKE, NOLAN!

  • What movie was the Scarecrow and Batman part from? (at 0:29 & 0:52)

  • Cool

  • GAY!! I noticed a scene from Equilibium and at the end with The Shadow of The Day music video. wow. the only thing that gets even a lil bit of me to believe in it is the voice

  • lol Brendan will definitely be flattered.

  • Sources, in case you're wondering, are Equilibrium, Shadow Of The Day, American Psycho, Stealth, Running Scared, and a Michael Buble music video. Also, the amazing Batman: Arkham Asylum Short.

  • What about the big explosion scene, is that not from Chain eaction?!? Neat vid, btway.

  • so, he is a computer hacker, huh?

    intresting...

  • Why Tim Drake? Dick Grayson was the first Robin, it would seem logical for him to be the new Robin.
