Today there isn’t a person… I’m getting inspired in things that aren’t locking, to perform locking. In other dance styles.

I – What does the locking means to your life?

P – It’s my life! It’s not everything, but is a big part of my life.

I – So, who inspire or inspired you to dance locking?

P – Who inspired me… In locking, some time ago, used to be Don, Don Campbell, locking creator. He was really, for some years, a great inspiration for me. Now my inspiration doesn’t come from locking anymore. It’s more from other dance styles. I’m always watching Nicholas Brothers’ videos, the two tap dancer brothers, and other dance styles. I’m also getting inspired by boogaloo, by popping.

P – In the beginning I started to dance hip-hop like b-boying and waving and popping. Then I saw a guy that was teaching locking. He was (didn’t understand the name, sorry…), the leader of the Vagabonds Crew. He taught me locking in the beginning. I stood 2 years with him and got my technique better along with Junior from France. Junior Almeida.
