it's a pity that LCpl Glenton didn't find his moral principles after his tour in Kandahar air base. Instead he waited a year and another posting to a unit that would go back before he declared his conscientious objection. He then went AWOL instead of giving his notice to terminate employment with the army. After 2 years AWOL in Australia he then returned as a conscientious objector and 'hero'. Retrospective justification much?

most soldiers know what is going on, he is nothing special. every soldier who spends a long enough time in action asks himself the same questions, however he's taken it a step further by getting the media involved. don't get me wrong, i want our troops back as much as anyone, but he's going about it the wrong way. besides, there's already a date set for us to be out of iraq.

anyway, i know real soldiers on the frontline, not truck drivers, and they accept their line of work.

Listen my friend, most soldiers have no idea what is going on, they are given a briefing, these are the enemy, this is where they live there, this is how we are going to kill them full stop! Soldiers don't question the inteligence given, they just take it as gospel, and get on with it.

Before we left Germany we had about three or four seperate briefings reference the Political History of the country, why decisions have been made to send us there alongside the US, what has been achieved so far and what our final objectives our.
