I feel as though they simply ran out of steam with Shane, just as she was beginning to evolve into someone with substance they put her back to square one, completely undermining her soul-searching and progression into adulthood which was unceremoniously ignored as if it had never happened which I find very disappointing. I am quite relieved that the show is ending soon as it has suffered from writers fatigue and is becoming farcical with weak, predictable story lines and lack of substance.

I understand your point but the creator of the L word is a middle class, wealthy lesbian who has based her characters on the people she knows from West Hollywood. She probably knows very little about 'ordinary working class lesbians' and had she based the L word on such women it would have been a patronising, ill conceived social stereotype and disastrous, at least she's sticking with familiar territory...let's face it - her world isn't real, based on artifice, vanity, wealth and success.
