@Intrepid74600 Ammo is expensive but this rifle shoots real good. I bought surplus once but you have to be careful. I once had what I think to be a .308 cartridge in one of the boxes. I only noticed it because it would not chamber.
Yo tuve un K98(8 mm Mauser), excelente para la caza , se puede disparar ambas municiones , sea , la bala militar y la de caza. Ahora poseo un Mauser sueco ( 6,5 x55) Husquarna, similar utilizacion de municiones .
Great Rifle! I had a bunch of those rifles, I changed the stocks and converted them to hunting rifles; I have a box full of those rear and front sling attachments, rings, metal butt plates etc. I also have 4 or 5 of the WHITE slings, they work with most rifles, but I don't like white slings. The ones I had were used by the Chilean Army for dress parades, and were probably never fired. They make great hunting rifles! I kept the one with the best wood and blueing for my collection (mint condition)
@bunnspecial haha hey beautiful chilean mauser by the way mine has some wear but shoots fine mine is the 1895 mauser cavalry carbine so its real short
@ere828 Thank you very much for telling me. The person who sold it to me said it was Mexican and it was a model 1912 so I assumed it to be true. I have now examined the coat of arms on it and this is a Chilean Mauser. I will update the text.
I also have one of these. The ammo is expensive though.
