Paul, this is such an indictment of the security system and the management of the facility. I believe that they escalate the problem. When Lesliee says "are you willing to do what's necessary' "are you willing to work on it, blah, blah, blah." She shifts her problem to you. Terrible management. They were so dismissive of you. Then the security guy escalates the situation. No respect.
You were most reasonable. Why didn't you play this at your Denial of Services hearing?
Well, what she really meant was: "Are you willing to go to City Hall and ask them to give me more money?" It's actually illegal for her to suggest this. She is not supposed to use her official position to influence City funding, but as a faith-based service provider, she can get away with a lot.
The issue wasn't money. It was her priorities. Only about 8% of their budget on was spent on 'client food and services,' so we'd only see a small fraction of any additional funding anyway.
Yes, it's terrible management! But it's homeless people, so no one cares... except you.
I did eventually play this segment at the Arbitration hearing which was the last step in the Shelter Grievance Process. The arbitrator overturned the charge of 'ongoing disruptive behavior,' but mysteriously upheld the other charge of 'threatening violence against staff.' So, according to Human Services Agency, I tried to attack the Director with my laptop, but did NOT do so in an disruptive manner!
