  • it looks like a giant golfball to me

  • If it was still white inside I would have eaten it.

  • fry'er up

  • wow lol

  • Mouth-watering! I would drop to my knees and kiss the earth if I found that.

  • TURN IT OVER!!

  • I pick these in Michigan late Summer. Not bad eating a little too soft to cook like other mushrooms. I broil slices on top of precooked bacon strips. Once starting to brown, top with cheese and favorite pizza toppings broil until cheese melted or browned. Plate and crumble bacon from bottom back on top. Out of this world! Make sure the Mushroom is younger pure white and no gills of any kind, if so its not a puffshroom. Get a book to explain better.

  • That is mad!

  • I hate to tell you this, but that smaller puffball out in the distance was actually one of my buddies left testicle. I thought the doctor said he was going to get rid of it !! Not leave out there in the field !!

  • You can eat the puffball mushrooms?

  • if you eat this one, you will grow, and you can jump very high.

also its possible to collect coins...

  • Did you know- Those other two puffballs a couple feet away from your giant puffball have the same exact genes as the giant one, due to the fact they are all connected to an underground system of mycellium. The mushroom is just a tiny part of the actual system, like an apple on a tree. I love me some shrooms!

  • That big one looks absolutely DELICIOUS. Please tell me you took them and cooked them.

  • Hard to tell from the vid but kind of looks like a earth ball

    My thoughts exactly!

  • Those things get huge and some how manage to survive through the winter seasons. There is one in my area that is literally ten times the size of that one. I think it is about 6 years old.

  • Biggest one I have seen was about a meter across (3 feet) and almost perfectly round. The ones were I live have completely smooth white skin. They do not have skin that has the dried mud like pattern in them.

  • hmmm maybe it can be used as a pillow

  • eat it! :/ what a waste

  • Hahahaha

    Butt mushrooms

  • I wouldn't trust those mushrooms. This has x-files written all over it.

  • thats so cool! I wish things like that grew in my garden! but of course I live in the boring part of Oregon -_- haha

  • did you wait for it to die out and jump n stomp on it?lol

  • u have to cut a slit into it and have sex with it, when u ejaculate into puffball mushrroms they give birth to powder puff girls, that are sexy and u can use them as fairy sexy slaves because they will want to suck your cock cuz they need sperm to feed on (kinda like babies suck on tities for milk)

  • Hi there ,

greetings from Germany, we call them Riesenbovist, and we were just eating one for dinner. It may sound funny, but you can cook him like a schnitzel. With egg and breadthings (i dont know the word for it, because im a German) and cook it in butter for 2 minutes on each side. Excellent taste. Have fun and thanks for the video

  • have you tasted it yet?

  • i live in ohio and i found one of these, IN A BUNCH OF HEDGEROWS!

  • Oh, yummy, make some mushroom soup and cook some on the BBQ with olive oil and salt, lucky you. I've been searching for some and can't find them anywhere. Enjoy, thanks for the video.

  • @IndigoCat17 You can eat puffballs. These are also known as "EarthStars". Latin: Calvatia gigantea (giant puffball). There is another one related to it, that has pointy spikes on the cap (Vascellum curtisii). Also edible when completely white on the inside.

  • @cjbrb67 Congratulations on perpetuating the American stereotype by shooting anything alien to you :D

  • slices baked in butter are delicious

  • wow the only fungi in my yard is a really small orange mushroom growing on a rotten wood table and a tall white one that is like a mushroom's cap folded to the stem

  • I hope you ate them, they're one of the best eating mushrooms! (But before they go dry and smoky on you of course)

  • A Puffball did shoot spores in my anus. Strange sensation really.

  • wtf.

  • did you die? :|

  • did you die? :|

  • i thought the boy took a bite out of it in the beginning. His cheeks were puffed and he was chewing.

  • *shudders* Wild mushrooms scare me for some reason. I'm such a dork.

  • I just picked and ate a 9" one and it was very good, better than the mushrooms you usually buy

  • Tha is a BEAUTY as you say, I find these fascinating, when they go to seed they emit clouds of dence spores at the slightest touch. It is so fine and redish in colour it looks like a cloud of bromide gas.

  • found one in my back yard. twice that size.

  • Puffball is excellent..... cook them up like you would a regular mushroom.. Excellent I tell you excellent.. Look forward to them every year.

  • i want to punch it.....

  • That would be VERY funny if you punched that Puff-ball mushroom while the kid is sitting there!! haha the kid would be all covered in yellow dust!

  • a puffball almost shot spores in my face

  • you can eat that sliced and fried with butter. It tastes like melted cheddar

  • Did you know that you can actually eat the small ones? If they are hollow they are not good to eat but if you find a young one that is solid and slice it into wafers you can bread it and eat it ^_^

  • This is true. In fall and spring I pick small, firm, young, solid white puffballs growing in back of the little white church at the foot of the hill, wipe them off with a paper towel, slice them up, and sautee them with a bit of olive oil. Yummy!

  • that sounded strangely sexual

  • Looks like Ben has some puffballs growing in his mouth ;D

  • OOH! I wanna eat it! Can I eat it? Pleeeeeeeeaaase? haha

  • Looks like an ostrich egg

  • at 0:35 i was expecting a monster to pop out and eat me! lol

  • POP!

    *Mushroom Explodes*

  • OK, You asked for it. A whole new meaning to mushroom hunting...

  • @cjbrb67 Can you give me what is the scientific name of that 'puffball'???

  • I know what this needs.... HULK SMASH!

  • Awesome! That is the biggest I have ever seen! I ate one once but they don't taste very good--better to let them complete their life cycle so they can re-"seed" the countryside with spores.

  • Whyy oh whyy did u not pop them for us =D
