I think Ogre3D and XNA are both excellent. I'd say XNA is geared more towards game development and has a whole load of tutorials for things that you would commonly do in games whereas Ogre just deals with the graphics side of things and basically leaves the rest up to you. Having said that Ogre has some nice features not found in XNA such as various different types of built-in shadow techniques.

I'm a fan of the FPS genre but there are just too many FPS games out there. I wanted to do something a little bit different but with the same kind of gameplay. I hope people will like it.
