I remember, I think it was Yellow House, but some of the songs were inspired by the writings of Ed Droste's great aunt. She was an unsuccessful song writer in the 1920's and drank herself to death.

I'm guessing the beginning of the song is from her. Gives you the goosebumps doesn't it?

Marla was it. They named it after her. What they did was slow the dance she composed down to make it more sombre.

@Tehtify I think that was just the song Marla. That song was a slowed down version of one of her songs that they re-did. I'm fairly certain everything else on the album was written 100% by Grizzly Bear themselves, including this song.

Mmmmm, it's too round of a sound. Lennon's was sharper and more nasally.
