He is playing a custom Jharrah wood drum kit with gold hardware fittings by Brady Drums. Jharrah is an extremely hard/dense wood and some estimate this set to be worth in the neighborhood of $30,000. Carl also plays a Paiste custom cast set made from melted down 2002 cymbals also worth in the neighborhood of $35-40K. I would like to hear that one played.
This drum kit sounds awesome! The Ludwig I have seen him play the last couple of times in the States has been a disappointment considering the other kits he has in his collection.
I was fortunate enough to see and hear him play his Paiste kit during a clinic in Philadelphia with Danny Carey. It was incredible (as is the one in this video)! I feel very lucky to have seen it, many people here have heard about it but have never seen it. It is worth the hype!
Awesome drum solo indeed! I like that Carl has developed his solo over the years to keep it exciting and different. Also, I'm glad he keeps his shirt on now..ahaha! Go CARL!!
Carl Palmer is the best drummer in the world. (Plain and simple) !!!!!!!

I the best LIVING drummer today.
Very much in the style of the great jazz drummers. Far better than the heavy metals, such as shirtless Barker and co.

When he was with ELP, Carl Palmer would take off his shirt during drum solos.

One of the diferent kinds of solo that CP can

Yes and now he also has a Ludwig Vistalite kit for touring in US? I think.
I had a Brady snare made in an unusal wood "London plane" but it was a bit too harsh for me.
