@taterbugcoalwood Thanks! I searched high and low for the tab for this and couldn't find it. Duke Robillard has an instructional video for Freddie King (very good) in which he plays Sen-Sa-Shun right at the end when the credits are rolling. Kind of frustrating because the camera angles aren"t great, but I used that and listened to Freddie's recording to figure out the rest. When in doubt, trust your ears!
. I have the same guitar and amp. Just a suggestion for you, you might want to try these setting: Put you pickup selector in the middle (both pickups on). Turn both pickup volumes to around 5 or 6. and the amp volume around 5 or 6 (treble around 7 or 8, bass aroud 2 to 4, reverb either off or 2 1/2), For me, I feel that I can nail Freddie's tone everytime. If you can get your hands on a metal flat pick, that also helps to get closer to his tone. Try it and see if you like it.
@EricCirca6566 --Thanks for the suggestion, Eric. I will try it out. I am primarily a Strat guy, and am really just learning my way around the Les Paul. Great guitars, but a totally different animal than the Strat. I really appreciate the suggestion. Thx again.
Great job man. I lover Freddie King and you nail it. Thank for teaching me that rhythm lick after trying to tackle it for so long. Keep up the great work Shawn!
@MrVinnieK --Thanks for your kind words. You made my day. Makes me feel good that my little vid helped another player learn a great tune by one of my heroes. I love Freddie, too, and hope that I did his song justice. A sax player taught me that rhythm lick! Take Care and keep lovin' the guitar and blues!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome. Post more.
