  • I had the SP2 version of this bike. Sold it. Years later I had an SRAD750. To be honest, the 400 was so much more fun to drive. Still miss it.

  • Doesn't matter what bike you ride as long as she has two wheels!

  • your nuts a r1 would blow this bikes dick off if a monkey was driving it but it would be fun to just corner anything not even care'n on this bike

  • i had this a same bike Gsx-r 400 r in japan ( white and Blue and the same age , 1991 ) The exhaust was Yamamoto racing slip-on carbon....and nhk stearing dumper . ALL THE morning of the sunday I was racing in the SANGANSEN MOUNTAIN KIRA TOWN AICHI-KEN ...Nice bike and good memories

  • had one a these and early 73a sweet bikes now on 1999 750 srad

  • @lonelykatana Depends on what year. =P

I've got a 2001 Aprilia Scarabeo. Its a scooter, but, what the heck. 'cause its a 2001 and not a 2005+, its got a Rotax engine. Believe me; the engine is the best bit of the vehicle. Don't get me wrong, its a nice scooter; but... Some of the body work makes me wonder what those bloody italians were doing... ._.

Engine rebuild was made harder than it needed to be... Sigh.

  • Were do y'all be getting those from. Willing to buy one off from y'all

  • i have got exactly the same bike my own and most 1000 cant keep up with me only on the highway because the handling is muchmuch better in most corners and the top in km is 190 200 kph ;)

  • wtf lol it has a damn vent hose on the tank i have seen that on a bike since 70's style enduros

  • Mad 1 had one ov these was well cool looks, handling, ....but how are the carbs?......leaking?

  • love your bike mate, i was gonna get one of these but in red and black!

  • nice bike

  • That is so sexy! :D

  • i still prefer the look of the earlyer models to todays ones. this is one of my favs.

  • top speed?

  • @Fantasiias

Should be a little over 200kph.

At least a ZXR 400 runs 210kph, I guess the Suzuki is pretty equal to this

  • @tommy9927 vfr 400 can hit 140mph?

  • wonder if you could fit a 750 motor in that frame ???????

  • my long lost love! metalic blue pantone process, gsx400 rr Plymouth Uni., Uk. Best ever mannn.

  • something beautiful !

  • checkout my video of my uncles gsxr400 in orange rizla olours

  • would know what year is this bike? and if you can still get spare parts normally because in my country there are many of these bikes for sale.

  • Mooi matey! I see a blue Rizla one every day, it's very cool. 59bhp and 167kg - if you're 5' tall and skinny, that'll shift ;)

  • Lovely bike. Love the classis Gixer colours

  • i woldent be that good if u restricted it two 33bhp what i wold do is get a aprilia rs 250 lot mor fun and thay have quite good engins for a 2 t

  • Uhh... nah. just get an unrestricted one?

  • @TheMega9700

the words, aprilia and good engine in the same sentence lol, gtfo

  • would this be a good first bike for a 17 year old? if i had it restricted to 33bhp

  • AUCTIONCITY CO UK

  • Had one of these with an aftermarket pipe - it surprised me how many heads it turned - the bike wasnt anything special to look at.

  • too the people who commented on the lack of power clearly have no bike. If a good rider jumped on the gsxr400 and you had an r1, you would still lose.

    whats power without handling?

  • @bigtruskione, today's liter bikes, especially the R1, handle like old 400cc and have almost twice the power, so a good rider on that GSXR wouldn't be able to keep up with a medium rider on a late model R1. I know 'coz I've done it with a friend of mine, a former SBK/Endurance rider, on public, twisty roads. He always caught up with me under breaking but I always outdragged him between corners, even with short distances between them.

  • @bigtruskione very true dude the 2002 plus r1's are regarded as the worst handling sports bikes ever produced

  • there's plenty of power in it. I have its bigger brother the gixxer 1000. Nothing wrong with 400. I hates the "omg thats a small bike" bikers. everyone has to work their way up. And that 400 with a decent pilot on it would have some fun in the twisties compared to 600's and 1000's.

  • hey hiptronics, that sound is of a four stroke engine with multi cyllinders. perhaps 4 cyllinders in line. two stroke engine has a different note like "ding...ding... ding....ding"

  • 2 stroke ?

  • No its a 4 stroke.

  • nice bike.. Is it very problem matic??

  • 400 rofl^^

    loud sound no power^^

    go get a bike.....

  • Nice! I have the sp II.

And to welttraumrassist -400cc with 59bhp is plenty powerful enough especially considering its about 15 years old .Or you can go buy a bike with twice the power and half the handling.

  • hes right my first motorway journey = 6 hours and my back was a bit stiff and the bike started to get a bi fierce. Very good bike 1st and 2nd gear quite apid loads in 3, 4 and 5 top out at about 125 .Gets there really quick. feels like there more left in it but it does wht itr does and does it well. A* . Know the handling i will comment soon on since i am getting new pirelli diablos on this friday , ill have a chat then .Cheers .Tristan.

  • you are so right 400cc are the worst bikes ever i meen not only gsx all of bandits cbrs hornets ...

even 250cc have better aceleration ..

  • Most of the people b*tching about the lack of power have poor driving skills them selfs. You don't need 200hp to have fun on a bike. Americans are the perfect example, all they care about is a straight road, they ( atleast most of them ) know nothing about cornering.

  • then go get a 4hp scooter for cornering racedriver ;)

  • What a BS reply. You get our point more then well. I'm not saying you should lack power, but the common trend in America is to put a dozen superchargers on it. Triple the weight by chrome parts and useless crap and put a swingarm the size of the equator on it...

  • ... does this mean I'm not invited to you and your cousins wedding ='( ? Redneck retard

  • wath year?

  • Nice bald tyre...?

  • Haha ah...

    Already told you...

    My bad, cheers

  • Because they're not the newest bikes I've found most people don't really take care of them (after they're imported, the japs look after them well).

Though I have found a stunning one at a local bike shop, put down a deposit... WILL HAVE IT ON THE 26TH OF NOVEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll upload a video as soon as I've got it, look out for it on my channel.

    Cheer

  • Hey a have the same ,very cool bike :):)

  • Stunning bike, I haven't seen one in this condition before.

    Congrats

  • Like an angry little bee!

  • just my opinion so dont kick up fuck and start arguing but....i hate the front on this bike id rather save and get an 06 600cc gsxr tails to thick but each to their own

  • is ie toevallig te koop?

  • lovely sound

  • What year is your bike?

  • Thanks for the info produKtNZ

  • saw gixer 400s in korea never understood why they never sold them in America

  • nice bike.....classic......but be careful with showing your license plate online....... =)

  • why

  • 225km/h Depending on rider weight, wind resistance etc

  • I got 117mph (indicated) outta ma Gixer400R SP grey import, it had a 33bhp restrictor and no fairing, these things can tare it up when unleashed ;)

    Still have a 1000 tho ;)

  • i got 130+ on mine was well past the clock reading and still going RAPID

  • Weet iemand dalk wat die bike se top spoed is?

  • Get a yoshi... I wish these bikes were imported to the US.....
