  • I'm afraid this beautiful guitar is now on eBay (UK only) - just search for Jackson KE2

  • good lesson my friend, bella lezione grazie amico.sei un grande

  • Fuckin' bad player!

  • great, you figuring it out from skratch

  • very gud

  • 2:30 :D

  • Guitar for the Practicing Musician Magazine did a perfect tab of it... If you want to learn it, get that article in that Magazine.

  • great info on the delay, wish i had that in 92!

the intro starts 19-23-22-21/18-22-21-20/17-21-20-19 etc down to where it joins the 2nd section of 5-7-8-5-4-8-7-4/5-7-8-5-4-8-7-4/5-7-8-5-6-8-9-6/5-7-8-5-4-8-7-5/

This then moves to the next part, but I can't fault your method, esp the picking.

I know the intro ive given is potchy but was taken from a tutorial with nuno forGUITAR PRO mag,I wish I still had it

I didnt have a decent delay(zoom9002)so couldn't choose the setting, now 20 yrs on! Aargh

  • I never noticed that song was played by nuno with a delay effect ! goo d video

  • Comment removed

  • a guy asks what effect this is the name you use and whether it is on the guitar that holds the key to make the effect depends on the box or sound bad english why you using google translator because I'm Brazilian

  • @ModScolfield No problem.

  • good vid! Thats exactly how I learned how to play it.

  • nice lesson man.... and nice guitar, too... is that a KE3 ? I have the KE3, it kicks *ss :-)

  • Hey! Nice! You don't need to be a great player to be a good teacher. Very nice delay technique.

  • You're right, not much help online. You should be picking 8th notes (like you are) and the delays should come 3-16ths later (if you notice in all the TABS the first repeated note comes 3-16ths after the first note - which comes AFTER the second picked note). So if you have the delay set to 300ms then you should be picking once every 200ms (which is 8ths/quavers - at 150bpm). So set the metronome to 150bpm and the delay to 300ms, and shred away. Or 200bpm and 450ms to play it like the record.

  • @rodel217 I'm sorry, I didn't understand a word you said. It must be your your filthy Asian accent. Fucking Nip.

  • @angercat1 hahahahha dats funny nip nice one hahahaha lmfao

  • @angercat1 It's just bad english, don't just say asian because of that!

    Great video by the way!

  • cool vid. WHERE DID YOU GET THAT GUITAR?????

  • @slayerhickey From your friend and mine - the 'bay!

  • @angercat1 what?

  • @angercat1 ach

  • Hi guitar lovers try (Thomas Crane)

  • WTF!!!! tAlkAtive!!

  • Thanks for your time and effort...seldom do you get anyone showing you how to play any Nuno...

    nice Jackson!

    5 star!

  • Thanks a lot man, I'm such a slower picker, no matter how much I practice! This really helpful to give a sped up effect!

  • Thanks dude, hope you checked out my other vids to watch the whole song bit by bit!

  • You are a sad little man. You jerk of to your mothers pictures, they seem to be adequate enough, so i've heard.

    Idiot.

  • What, me?

  • No! Not at all; you are doing a great job, dude. I was talking about Barriemichel. He probably tries to get the attention he never got at home, here at Youtube. :p

But no offence to you, dude! :-)

  • ROFL! No worries, just wondered how you knew my mum! Thanx for your support mate!

  • Dude don't listen to barriemichel he's being a prick. This helped me get the hang of it thanks man.

  • Or, Don't leave youtube posts if you cant even spell. At least he's having a go at it,

  • At least my videos aren't censored! Can you play it? If not, shut the hell up! I made this video two years ago and can now play it perfectly, but I don't suspect for a minute that you checked my other videos - just talk trash to someone you don't know. P.S your spelling is shite, prick!

  • so it like the solo in dream theaters surrounded? damn guitarists and there abuse of delay.

  • I love the digeridoo in the background.. can you play it?

  • I wish. To me it will always remain a handsome stick. That's 10 quid I'm never gonna see again!

  • Same here. I bought one in New Zealand with a friend when I was 13 in hopes of starting a digeridoo rock band haha. As you can guess it didn't follow through too well. It's definately a fun and interesting instrument to have around though.

  • dude you actully sound like a awesome guitarest....

    and im just wondering

could you send me tabs for it?or where to get eh tabs

  • Hi m8, FOTWBB tabs are really complex - they show all the picked AND repeated notes. See my other videos for a step by step lesson, far easier than the tab. Hope it helps dude!

  • k

    thanks

    and one more thing

would you be able to use the delay built into a line 6 amp for this song?

or do you have to have a pedal?

  • I don't see why not. As long as the L6 lets you dial in a really clean delay that repeats ONCE at the same volume as the picked note without sounding fluffy, it should work just fine. I've now got a Peavey Vypyr 30 amp (similar to your L6) which ROCKS but the delay is a little 'mushy' and spoils things a little. If you can do all this, save your settings and practise, then gradually speed up the delay as you get better. Any more Qs, give me a shout, I'll do my best to help. Regards, Ben.

  • Very helpful lesson, thank you.

Glad to see you've finally made part 2 and 3 as well :)

  • is that a BC Rich mocking bird in the backk?

    and you kelly is delicious.

  • Yes, but it's the acoustic Mockingbird. Not bad as semis go! And thanx, I love my Kelly!

  • good job m8

  • Cheers dude, and thanx for the extra info!

  • No Probs m8, share the goodness

  • Nice, now go tidy your room ;)

  • Absolutely not! It's MY craphole! XD

  • I learnt the tapping part at end of intro yeeeeeaaaaarrs ago but never felt confident to try the other parts, cos like you say the speed of the picking sounds like 1,000,000mph but after seeing someone show it like this it gives people the confidence to have a go - now, I've hardly touched a guitar in nearly 6 yrs but i'm gonna get back into doing what I used to enjoy. thanks for the vid!

  • Cheers 4 the comment dude, I'm now seriously considering a section-by-section tab video played at 50% speed to help others. What do you reckon?

  • I think I'd find it helpful, I'm sure others would too!

  • Nice job on this lesson! I teach guitar lessons for a living, and you are a natural teacher. I'm going to go and try this technique now. Thanks!

  • Thanks for your kind words mate, let me know how it's going!

  • man you are suck.

befor you upload vd lern how to play

  • Man,YOU suck!

Before you comment, learn how to use the language.

Nice videos BTW. None? Do YOU suck?

  • Wrong Amps Are Important 2 !!!!

  • Meh, not convinced, I agree that in a live situation amps are v important but practicing at home and recording? I can get amazing sounds with a DI and an amp sim.

  • yeah, know what you mean, and liking the use of "meh". lol

  • this really helps thanks alot!

  • Nice job, bro Thanx for the tips

  • Cheers Scotty !

  • thank you so much! 5 stars, I always felt this way too!

  • Very well explained and demonstrated, dude! Perfect for those who wondered how this efffect was achieved...

  • cool guitar man!!!

  • good attempt here, bro!

got me understanding the speed of the delay!

    5 stars!

  • Thanks for your great comment David. Cheers for the video response too - it's an honour to have it linked to my "all the gear, no idea" video!!!

    Ben.

  • puro salita

  • cool vid dude,i find it hard learning stuff when its buried in effects.

    any hoo,top marks fella.

  • i apologize i played the normal flight of the bumble bee, not this. this would be much harder.

  • so like, i pick every single note, and i play every note one the fret board. i dont use any effects, am i wasting my energy?

  • If you are picking every note at that speed with no fx, I believe you should be stuffed, framed and put on Nuno's wall! He just rebounds off his delay pedal, half the picking, half the fretting. Kudos to you for playing in full though dude, wish I was that quick!

  • If only I could afford the gear for it... nice man. I love your guitar, and I saw that Mockingbird back there ;) Good stuff.

  • Cheers - 'All the gear, no idea!' LOL. BTW, the Mockingbird is acoustic - does that make it lame?

  • Not at all XD I just love the body for it.

  • shut the fuck up and play, bitch

  • dude i have loads of those safeways green boxes at my house. man i miss them so much im starting to run out :) and u vid helped me get a idea of how to play chears i was trying to work it out by ear which with the delay confused me alot :P

  • Cheers dude - all hail the Safeway Green Box!!!

  • dude is giving out lessons and he can't even play it himself... wow... this baffles me. I would of espected that from an american but not a brit. BTW. I still got pointers from the video... well done. good effort. I can't bitch, I didn't even post a video yet so it's easy to bitch at other. Don't take it personnaly.

  • OK. Thanks. I think. I posted this about ten minutes after working out how to do it - sorry it isn't polished enough for you :(

  • well my friend has the pornograffiti tab book

    and its 200 milliseconds

  • Thank you Ben

  • bla..BLA..BLA..BLA

  • you have good ears but you have some mini mistakes for example many think the start part is -21-22-20-21-19-20 and all the way down, nop. its 21-22-(21)-20-(22)-21-(20)-19-(21)-20-(19)-18-(20)-19-(18)- also the part you are playing is not 5-8--4-7--5-8--6-9--5-8 its 5-(7)-8-(5)-4-(8)-7-(4)-5-(7)-8-(5)-4-(8)-7-(4) many people are having problems to hear this middle notes so its not 1-2 1-2 but 2-3-1 2-3-1 I hope it helps a bit.
  • Noctivagant:

thanks for writing this out. So many dudes out there can't play it the correct way, thus depend on the delay to cover Nuno's real mechanism! This piece is pretty straight forward, and you can play it the right way or take the Long Island Expressway!!! YOUR TABS in response to angercat1 are 110% correct!!! -jumble

  • nice finish on a nicer guitar

  • cool guitar is that the ke2?? what year is it made? does the finish looks glossy or is it satin natural?? how does it sound?? bright?? lol i asked too many qs, im going on buying new gears and your jackson is plain beautiful :)

  • Ahem...

    Yes.

    2005.

    High gloss.

    Lovely.

V bright. Even brighter with the Dimebucker (maybe a little too bright?).

I'd recommend one to ANYBODY!!! Thx for the comment btw.

  • good job i give you 5 stars

  • Brilliant foundation, indeed! Respect.

  • nice guitar man!! i have the same one but then in black:)

keep it up also nice sounding amp.

is it a transistor or a tube amp???

  • Tis a tranny!

  • alright then!

  • that rocked amigo

  • Nice and honest lesson!!

    Welldone!

  • nice guitar !!!!!

  • Thanx, she's a real beauty in the flesh but an absolute bugger in a guitar stand!!!

  • How much was the Kelly?

I was thinking about buying one.

  • I paid about £940 used on the Bay - there is a new one on at the moment (350033244678) for considerably more cash!

  • that' s insane

    i wish i had a delay pedal

  • I liked your explanation. It is a difficult thing to wrap your brain around until you start picking against the delay. Very similar to Big Sur Moon in technical setup. This tutorial and a set of tabs should get about anyone off in the right direction.

    Well done!

  • many thanks ben..:)

  • Cheers, hoping to do a small update soon!

  • beautiful guitar and tutorial

  • Thank you - it sings with a Dimebucker now!

  • is that an overdrivin guitar?

    awesome tutorial dude!

  • you r really generous friend!

  • Great tutorial, Thanks!

  • Indeed a pleasure! Thx 4 ur comment.

  • Cool that you're starting at the beggining and the delay tips are very useful. Don't forget that during the classically bit between each set of 2 notes there is an open e, just for extra fun.

  • Or you could just forget the delay altogether and just pick that fast. I can do a faster tremelo picking than your delay did, its just a matter of coordinating with my other hand :D

  • Cool. Let's see then...

  • beautiful ke2. transparent finish looks great on these things. are you still using jb on the bridge?

  • Thanks, I love it! In the video, yes, it is a JB but I just took it to my local guitar shop on Saturday for them to stick a Dimebucker in! The JB is just too nice for searing leads...

  • If you want to get a beefier sound you should try sh5.great pickup !
