  • Ace managed to just completely bullshit EVERYONE.

  • i thought those afterschool specials were suppose to be realistic. Since when does cake solve gang warfare and gangs don't fight in the form of song and dance real gangs kill people. that's no "celebration"

  • gang warfare wasnt this light in the 1950s

  • ...Add then, the Purple Falcons individually committed suicide by throwing themselves off of the rooftop one by one. And EVERYONE lived happily ever after.

  • Completely not the book at all.

    But this is hilarious :)

  • Also, now that I think about it, that whole "I smell a rat" (it's said twice) scene seems to be foreshadowing something that in fact never happens: the film crew turns out to be perfectly legit. And why do the Piranhas steal his jacket AND kidnap Raven? I mean, she wasn't in the scene they were filming when the Piranhas hit, they could have kidnapped her then, except for that fact that it's HER uncle that bails them out in the hearse (but without her). Something's definetly off...

  • It's just poor writing in action. At the end Ace is singing about prevailing because he was himself...exact he wasn't being himself through the whole show. Guess they had to stick a message in there somewhere.

This makes me want to check out the book just to see if it's as absurd as the special or if something went horribly wrong in translation.

  • I've since found a summary of the book... In the book, he has a sty, which is why he has to wear the eye patch. And he "can't find anything to wear but a red satin jacket with a dragon on the back." Now I'm really confused: his CONSCIOUS effort to look tough in order to avoid getting beat up is the only thing that does make sense in the movie.

  • So that newspaper cover story about "Gang Wars" at the beginning of the movie was nothing but hype? Also, in the same part, his little sister was a). stretching the truth to scare her brother, b). exagerrating, as kids often do, or c). also got some bad information from Jeannie, her new friend. And the Purple Falcons themselves seem to not know whether they're really a gang or not. Too many loose ends, is there maybe an alternate ending? Has anybody read the book? Maybe it's a little clearer...

  • WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Rob Stone should have jizzed or shit in the cake!

  • This is one of the most ridiculous things I've seen. CBS's stuff is on a completely different level of absurdity from ABC's after school specials.

Even the plot was random: New kid is deathly afraid of the local gangs, has fantasies of getting beat up by dancing & singing gang members, joins a gang, subsequently gets a role for himself and the gang in a movie, and brings an end to gang warfare with a cake. Then tops it off with another dance number.

I can't make this stuff up.

  • I was thinking the same thing and I already said it in one of my earlier comments, this is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen and CBS schoolbreak doesn't even compare with ABC afterschool

  • This is such a positive message for homosexual gang members.

  • That is funny. Those clothes!!!!!!
