I was told when The Muchachos left the field a huge croud of people parted way to let them through. The chant EAST EAST EAST was heard throught the stadium.
i was a judge runner for a junior drum corp show...bon bons lost by one tenth.. i had to give the score annoucement.. i was forced to change it.. i regret it but had to do it...now thats sad..
Yeah.... Great memory! DCI Trivia: MADISON Won Prelims with ANAHEIM 2nd and SCV had to come from 3rd to win FINALS! Still breaks my heart MADISON wasn't first back to back Champion!!Thanks for posting!
Now all you people posting on here...I'm getting SO SICK OF THIS...you HAVE to remember to STAY ON THE CONCRETE AREA!!! STAY OFF THE TRACK!!!! GOOD GRIEF!!!
Yes, I was there! I was 9 years old, at my first DCI finals. I think my interest was fading toward the end. Don't remember too much, except for my older brother yelling "Go, Santa Crawl-a" just before the Bottle Dance. I sneaked out to the Vanguard table and bought a pin (I still have it around somewhere.)
Still remember 1974 as a year of stellar music. I am thankful for YouTubers posting some of this old-time stuff. Thanks for your contribution.
I sure wish someone has a video of De La Salle Oaklands from '72, I knew several of them including my Best Man at my wedding.

I was a Bridgmen member, and I actually though Anaheim Kingsmen were better than Santa Clara V, their Fire Bird Suite was awesome.
