Footloose the Musical: Almost Paradise

the kiss at the beginning threw off the entire mood of the song. If this kiss was placed at the end, the crowd would be expecting, and wanting it to happen. if the kiss happens before the entire song that leads into their first kiss, the whole song feels rather pointless and dry.

other than that it was pretty good.

I feel like the kiss in the beginning was a little premature. The blocking just seemed awkward because of it, like they were far away from each other, which I know is what's asked for, but still it seemed weird. I was in this in March, and I think it was better leaving the first kiss after the song, but it may be just me. The vocals were good, also.

All in all this is pretty good. Not all women can go that low so I didn't let that bother me and this Ren tends not to sing that high even when he is supposed to so I think he did really well

ren isn't that bad. but he goes to high and then ariel doesn't have control of her voice. she either is too powerful and then she drowns out ren's voice or she goes too low and makes this wierd voice. They don't have bad voices but they aren't voices for this show. they could do better.and they could be better for a much more different show...then the mics start to get feedback. their voices start to get wierd at the end. You just need to be careful in future shows. Not bad, just not excellent

Not bad. My school Just did Footloose. It's cool to see how everyone does it different. The chemistry isn't bad. I've seen worse.

I actually had the part of Ren. Try loosing your voice the week of dress rehearsal. I couldn't talk to save my life. I don't know how I got through dress rehearsal or the show.

i was ren too in my school's production of footloose and i totally know what you mean about losing your voice. it sucks. the singing parts for ren are incredibly extensive and strenuous. nice job dude.

Having just finished a production of this with a crazy musical director who is just nuts about being on key and getting the harmonies right, I can say you guys are way off key and you're playing the notes. (You're not staying on the note, you're dancing around it. Playing the notes = bad). Your set is nice, but you guys are making me cringe.

The only thing I noticed is the awkwardness after that kiss. I helped direct a production at summer camp, and I remember some dialogue before the song began. Nice job otherwise.

I did Footloose last year, and played as Ren, and I can very confidently say your casting was much better than our own.

Lovely harmonies for this song.

If I had one complaint, it would be that the song -STARTS- out slightly weak, but when it gets to the harmony, it gets amazing.

And another, if I may, is that the Willard doesn't seem to be to vocally strong, however, he has GREAT stage personality, so I'd say it equals out.
