I find them funnier. I'm not saying Izzard isn't funny. I just watched Dress to Kill for the first time and I really enjoyed it. I did notice traces of Connolly in his act and a bit of Bill Hicks too. Point is "The greatest comedian in the world" is only true in YOUR world

Bill Hicks would have done great stuff if he had lived longer, but at that point in the early 90s he was the man for that particular moment. It's all very subjective of course, humour. But Eddie Izzard was the greatest comedian in the world from the mid to late 90s, in terms of exposure, successs, and sheer influence.
