you fail to mention max ampree discharge rate, mAh rating, Without this information theres no way to determin the max load that can be placed on the battery. The watt hour claim is also useless without this information. As for the claim of 5-6 hours battery life is far fetched (as you claimed "most laptops" not Netbooks). under load most 15 inch notebooks will use 130 watts and up. so potentialy less than one hour battery life.

I made a larger version of this at home. It has all the protection that this one boasts, cost slightly less than a replacement lappy battery and has four times the capacity. It is alot more bulky but was made for a specific job where the lappy would not be near a mains supply for long periods.

Rather than buy the battery shown here why not simply buy a spare laptop battery, far cheaper.

I have this battery pack and unfortunately less than a year after purchase didn't work. I contacted Battery Geek and after 6 emails they finally had me return the product and they returned it back a month later and said it worked fine. Unfortunately it still doesn't work another 6 months later. I have a DVD battery from them and it works beautifully but this battery was not very good.

I have this model---it was replaced by the same model after the first showed poor runtime and wouldn't start a dead computer. Neither battery came close to the advertised runtime. Their ad stated 7-8 hours. I got 2. They offered to sell me a $500 battery after I said I would be happy with 5 hours runtime. They admitted it wouldn't get that offering the more expensive one and that I wouldn't be happy with anything else. My internal battery lasts 3.5 hours. This battery only added 2 hours.

@truth3806 how much energy your laptop burns from its hardware is also a factor. I think the "hours" is just referring to business-level laptops or corporate

A good handy product, with an impressive battery life time, would be most cost affective if you own different brands of laptops.A bit expensive for what is only really a battery and charger.
