If I may interject my civilian (albeit educated) opinion. It seems to me what makes the United States' equipment better is what makes its soldiers comparatively "worse" (I don't mean to say that they're bad, just not as good), and that is size. With America's size comes a lot of money, therefore better equipment. The UK however, because it has a smaller choice of people and a smaller budget for paying troops, has to pick the very best candidates for training. Does that make sense?

Just look at my country (UK) and France we spent hundreds of years at each others throats and yet the moment Germany became a bigger threat to us than we were to each other we dropped the hatchet and allied against it. I fought along the British in Iraq with the Marine Corps. Them and the Canadians are some of the bravest soldiers I've ever met, some of were even better than us Marines.

Thank you for this video, coming from a Yank about to join the US Army, I whole-heartedly agree the US and UK should stand together until time itself does us in. Very few nations have a bond as tight as we have and though we've had our differences, I can't think of another ally I'd more willing trust my life with. Godbless the UK and USA.

from experience i can tell you that British and us soldiers would laugh at this argument both sides would tell you that this army (the brititsh) have the best trained soldiers on the planet and the americans have got the best equipment i had this conversation with loads of yanks while i was in the Royal marines and pretty much everyone agreed we are brothers not enemies

@TheIceman567 no but most of the training methods used today they got from us and so the Americans use some of our weapons and so do the Germans but that doesn't even really matter mate oh and not all the SAS weapons the Snipers are British like the L96 and on occasion they use the SA80 and we invented the flashbang but i agree to a point most of our best assets like the gunships are usually American

i think pound for pound the brits are the better army, less men so more resources and training to be splashed out on them, though not the best kit, the US army would win in a fight because of greater numbers though still great standard of training and slightly better kit, put simply if i wanted a smaller mission done right and almost guaranteed sucess i would chose the brits to do it, but if i wanted something completely pummeled, i'd call the americans.
