hmmm, have you looked at the torrents? they have the pro 9 exe file usually in them. they are still being used... i know because i had to replace my Sony Vegas 9 because i installed windows 7.... =)

It may NOT be the program itself. There has been a LOT of problems

with graphic / video cards and/or their drivers, particularly some of

the older ATI Radeon series ones. This problem will affect all sorts

of stuff, but particularly video and rendering because of it's massive

bit rates in comparison to almost any other type of file or computer

functions. This may be your actual problem. Good Luck !!

I use to have the same problem, but it wasn't the vegas it was the computer, there was a virus on it that over heated the system causing it to crash when rendering. if i kept a fan blowing on the computer while rendering it'd complete it's rendering, but it was a hassle. So finally I just paid to have my computer cleaned and then no more problems with vegas :D

@xNightshadex no. I did have that happen to me once, but it was after the cleaning. I was making an animash and what happened wasn't too many layers, but too many different clips in the project media files. It slowed the whole thing down. so I decided to render in a lower quality too get it finished. from now on I like just rendering things in segments or render individual manips and then add them back into vegas and delete the previous files from the project.

if all the sony vegas' your installing onto your comp arent working, it might be a computer problem, not a software problem.

SOny Vegas pro 9 is GONE. its Pro 10 o nothing andf ATM there are no functioning KEYGENS for it...I know this because i have had the EXACT SAME problem and am living with a Pro 10 trial...if you find anything Nightshade PLEASE PLEASE tell me...i have a cornucopia of ideas waiting to be made

I'd recommend SV 9 as they are only 4 layers on SV 8. i edit with only 4 as I'm used to it but if you think it's a problem...

I feel bad for you T-T , but you can search it on youtube, download sony vegas (it has to be the one that tells you to download it with a key jin or jen, however you spell it.), and you have to find a video that explains about it. (Which is first thing.)

Stupid SV *Grrr* mine isn't very good either, but it renders at least. I got the download from a youtube video. I typed something like 'sony vegas pro 9 free' and did everything the video said.
