great tips. when i boarded my 'dodgy' van out to protect it i carpeted the floor and walls of the van with carpet tiles. this stops boxes & equipments sliding around as much. it also helps to keep the damp out of the van and your expensive equipment in the winter months!!
One thing I'd add is you should try and get the heaviest items over the rear axle if you can. Normally the speakers. This weighs the rear end down nicely giving you more grip. Lorry drivers always load over the rear axle and move items back as they unload. It is especially important in winter when there is ice about as the rear suspension works best and gives most grip when under load. If all the heavy stuff is behind your seat the van is going to skip about everywhere.
J, Thats good advice, but u also need to have a secure frame at the back of your seat, just incase of an accident at 60 mph, your seat would not be strong enough to take the force of all that gear coming at you from behind. i worked for a crash repair garage some years ago, i seen some nasty stuff coming in there.
i did notice you put carpet in the floor of the van thats a good idea to take some of the shock out of the bumps thhe thicker the carpet the beter maby even two layers of carpet.
Good tips, I do much the same, but hadn't thought to do a video on it, good idea and tip for those starting out :) Maybe I'll include how I pack my van in my next gig log :)
Best tip for vans with windows....blacken then with black spray can..

You could fit a bulkhead Johnathan behind the drivers area. Either metal, wood, whatever...easy, simple, yet effective.
I like the idea of covering the equipment up, it also keeps it nicely together.
