I own this amp I got it for free and fixed it works great with cleans but I use an external overdrive and it probably sounds bad because he has it modes so it's like a head the wording could be shitty or it could be other things
Oh man thats genious.... so you're actually hearing the MG15 sound through a 4x12??If I were you I'd put the circuitboard in a custom casing and basically use it as a head since you already use it that way :D NICE man you should show us your rig!!!
@akaboo Yeah ive long been telling guitarist around here to crank their mids but they dont listen and i cant ever make out what theyre playing in a live situation.
you've just proven what I've been saying for years now... the main problem with these small amps isn't the amp itself, but the tiny anemic speakers they always put in there! I absolutely refuse to play thru anything but a 12" speaker for guitar.
I have worked on and played through a number of MG amps and been impressed with the killer Marshall tone they seem to nail really well.
the slightly broken up to heavy distortion by picking and volume knob adjustment doesnt do much for me compared to some other amps I played through in general.
Hey akaboo, solid playing! I still don't know about those mg's though. They get a lot of bad rap but, ive never played one. You also have to take into account that a lot of people don't really know how to dial an amp in. Im still learning what I like and dont like myself.
@washburn7x it is a killer amp you just got to dial in the sound right in all honesty the Marshall JCM 900 tone on my digitech sounds exactly like my MG
@washburn7x well one thing I do is crank the mids I run the mids on 8 to 10 scooping the mids is the worst Idea I have evr herd yet people do it dont ever scoop themids high mids give a nice fat tone on this amp i got the gain cranked the mids almost maxed out and the bass and treble maxed out
Whats the setting of the delay u have it on

Hey! Would you say this amp is ok to begin playing guitar with? I'm thinking of getting one of these, whenever possible.
