Salvation is through faith in the Gospel not in a sinner's prayer. Romans 10:13 says : whosever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:14 says "How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed". Ephesians 1:13 says "having believed you were sealed with the Holy Spirit". To get true faith in the Gospel, one must relize the condemnation of God's wrath they are under because of thier sin and be convicted by the Holy Spirit.
@javypez Romans 10:13 says "shall be saved". This is future tense. Ephesians 1:13 says "were sealed with the Holy Spirit for the day of redemption". This is past and present tense. We are not born of the will of man nor the will of flesh, but of God. See John 1:13. Let the Holy Spirit work when you present the Gospel, do not take them through a sinner's prayer.
In my country we get Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons' always dressing up way over the top when they do their door knocking, thank goodness there are Christians' behaving normally and dressing normally like you in the video sir.
I love how fake this is. You just happened to have a camera, the guy just happened to be home, he just happened to not be busy, and actually care what you had to say. I'm sure God is happy that you are showing off how well you convert those you actually didn't convert.
Oral announcement and simply believing aren't worth anything. If you really believe something then you will act on it, otherwise, you've only proven that you never meant it.
Repent is best defined as: to feel sorry, self-reproachful, or contrite for past conduct; regret or be conscience-stricken about a past action, attitude, etc. God repented of making mankind, for example. Just as He repented and decided not to destroy Nineveh. Also if you'll read after the Lord's Prayer is spoken by Jesus in Matthew 6:9-13, Jesus says that if you do not forgive others,God will not forgive you
@daileydevotion what about the old testament of the bible it tells me i can stone my wife if she is an adulteress and it also preaches an eye for an eye this is not forgiveness this is revenge so the bible contradicts itself when it tells you to forgive others or god will not forgive you.
I really hope this person went in his house and actually prayed out of his own will, the sinner's prayer is ridiculous! Find it for me in Scripture where anyone "lead" someone in prayer. You forgot to tell him to repent of his sins, and that faith without works is a dead faith. Not meaning to be your critic, but he isn't saved because he said what you told him to.

I'm sorry you feel that way, although what you describe is something known as Calvinism, whereby a man is born defected and unable to attain salvation by faith, because God did not choose that man.

Christ has made a way for us to be justified from our sins, by faith alone. That is good news friend. :)
@YoungBaptist07 Am I "perfect" ? Depends on what & whose standards you're judging me by & it depends on the existence and validity of the one who set those standards.
Left to his own standards a thief is perfectly justified in his thefts.
The bible claims "faith without works is dead". So, your "faith alone" statment is neither sound nor biblically justifiable. You claimed that I'm coming from a "Calvinist" point of view. Your statement, comes from a pure Baptist point of view/paradigm.
@YoungBaptist07 The real reason you're doing this is because you've caught "religious disease". It comes from an inability to face your own problems so you deflect them on to God.
You start calling people "friend" and talk in this wacky non-real-world way but really you know - and I know - that dinosaur bones prove everything you are promoting to be absolute nonsense. The Earth is NOT a few thousand years old.

You're right about one thing, religion does trap people. Religion is not what the bible teaches. The pharisees were religious people, but heaven is not attained by some "religious" practice or code. Religion is just a set of rules and regulations...Getting into Heaven is based on the Grace of God provided through Jesus Christ. I don't trust in religion or rituals, but through faith in what Jesus did by dieing on the cross and raising from the dead. It's faith not works
Bloodtar, it's up to you to decide what you're going to do with Jesus? Just because you disagree with something doesn't make it any less true. I hope that through the conviction of the Holy Spirit that you wil honestly open your heart and hear what's being said in the video above. Because one day according to God's Word, every knee will bow and every tongue (Including yours) will confess Jesus Christ as Lord! You dont answer to religion, pastors, or people, just God! I'll be praying for you
YoungBaptist, I rebuke you. I came to you with the Word of God, showing you clearly where this "8 minute salvation" is against Scripture. You stopped your ears and ran away.
I appreciate your honesty - but I'm not concerned about you. I'm concerned that somebody might take this video seriously. You should put a disclaimer in the title.
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
I think this verse is a good one to show that they cant just believe in the door - but go through it to be saved.
Also there are verses that talk about bringing 30 fold, 60 fold and 100 fold (talking about people you win to Christ) and how would you know unless you asked them to make a decision on what they believe?
I will pray for a person to get saved but I will not pray with a person to get saved. They have to call on the Lord themselves. I don't want that person to think that my prayer somehow "helped them" to get right with God.
It's also possible that a person would think that a certain type of prayer is what saves if left to their own thoughts. Leading them to rely on the length of their prayer or the amount of feeling put into the words.
Which also could lead them to think the words or emotions at the time of praying is what saves.
Either way we need to make it clear what salvation is, and what calling out to God means.
Just knowing about the Gospel is not enough, you have to receive it, or you have to open the Gift, or you have to open the door, or drink the water.
Whether it's a few words, like Jesus save me, or Forgive me God a sinner, or a long prayer, or praying with someone. It's not important.
If they call upon the name of the Lord in faith according to what has been explained to them, then they are saved, whether they are helped to pray or done themselves
My overall concern is that we don't fall into this this "easy-believeism "touchy-touchy" mentality, for this is just as deadly and flawed as lordship salvation is to those that want to get saved through their works and stay saved living super duper lives.
I understand your concern James, but through the Bible, Salvation is not a dificult process, and you know this.
There is a sort of injustice, since when we look around we see many "christians" living lives which are frowned upon as unchristian like, so the label "easy believism" becomes a negative term.
Bcos christians are meant to be christ like in principal but many are not.
Many people still reject the Gospel even when you tell them it's by faith alone to be saved.
Also one that comes to the Lord should have some conviction and brokenness over their sin. After the sinner has truly believed, then a turning from sin needs to occur after one is saved (justified) to allow his sanctification to begin.
One other quick point: real faith in Jesus is not the same as a head-knowledge of Who He is.
Romans 4:5 "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness."
Jonah 3:10 (King James Version) 10And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
These verses show turning from sin is works! Yes, one must know and admit they are a sinner, but they don't need to say they are a wretched, vile sinner and be broken.
When we go on the streets, we spend 90% of our time going through the holiness of God and His law, and the last 10% on His mercy and forgiveness through Christ. If a person doesn't appear sorrowful and broken (like most don't) to some extent, we leave them be. We don't want still-borns on our hands.
You and I seem to be one the same page. But the brother in this clip gave the impression that Jesus had to be "punished" in Hell which is false. He dealt with sin on the cross.
I've seen too many folks try and "close" a witness account, with a quick prayer. I'm not saying this video was like that, but we need to be clear that works play no part, and that the sinner understands who God is and who he is. When I witness to a lost person, I don't pray with them.
@excatholics : "I'm not saying this video was like that, but we need to be clear that works play no part, and that the sinner understands who God is and who he is."
I understand - but was it not so clear in the video that works does not play a part - its believe on Jesus to be saved alone. However, you have to take the gift. Just like on Christmas Day, you get a gift, and you have to unwrap the present. Not just believe its there. Does that make sense? Asking God to save you is not works.
(How do you measure some conviction and brokenness?
If a person knows and understands that they are going to hell, for their sins,)
One does not get saved out of fear of hell, the law brings a fear of God not hell.
True conviction and brokenness is a hatred of their sins b/c they have seen the Holiness of God and the wickedness of their sin and they now love the God they once hated. It is never about do you want to go to heaven.
Is not hell created for the purpose of showing God's wrath on unbelievers and the fallen angels?
How then can you say the fear of God is separate from a fear of hell.
The Bible says "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
In Psalm 9 v16 it says the LORD is known by the judgement he executeth
I am yet to find one person, who so hates their sin, that they're sinless.
(Is not hell created for the purpose of showing God's wrath on unbelievers and the fallen angels?
How then can you say the fear of God is separate from a fear of hell.)
Yes that is good to have that fear of His wrath and hell, but if that is it, then it leads to a selfish motive of self-preservation. The Fear of God has to be based in His Holiness. When a sinner sees Gods Holiness he will cry with Isaiah, I am undone,or comming apart at the seams.
Overall this video is very good but I need to flag up a couple of points:
@4:30: Jesus was not punished in Hell (that's what heretics teach/He became the first born again man?!?!), but He went there to collect the righteous and proclaim victory to those that rejected Him. See John 19:30.)
40For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Romans 10:9 (King James Version) 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
We all know Jesus went to Hell, but where in Scripture does it say He was "punished" there?
I concur with Rom. 10:9, but a distinction between just "knowing Jesus is God's Son" like (James 2:19), and being truly broken over ones sin (Luke 18:13) needs to be made.
Jesus went to collect the righteous and proclaim victory in hell?
I have never come across these teachings before, I cannot deduce anything from John 19 v30 other than that Christ died.
Hell is God's punishment on unbelievers, the only righteous person that ever wen't to hell was Christ, and he rejoiced because he knew he will come back up from hell (Psalm 16 v9-10)
The prayer is not what saves, it's the faith in your heart
The brother doing the talking in the video (4:30) said Jesus was punished in Hell, but John 19:30 makes it clear that the work/atonement that our Lord came for was finished at the cross, not in Hell.
Christ's work was not finished on the cross or in hell.
His earthly ministry was complete, but he had not gone to heaven to sprinkle his blood on the mercy-seat in heaven (Hebrews 9 v19-28)
That's why when he came back from the dead, He could not be touched (John 20 v17) Until he had gone up to heaven, his priestly duty was not complete. He had to make a propitiation for all sins.
"For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator."
His death on the cross saw the sinless lamb of God atone for the sins of the world (2 Cor. 5:21.)
Like I said in my latest video, upon His death His spirit went straight to be with God (Luke 23:46); His body remains in the tomb and His soul goes to Hell. After three days, body and soul are resurrected.
I could probably do a full 30 minute video on John 20:17, and I would also cross reference it with Mark 16:12; Luke 24:16 and other verses, but in short all I will say is that our redemption was finalised at the cross. Paul always rejoiced in the cross, never His visit to Hell and back.
How do you measure some conviction and brokenness?
If a person knows and understands that they are going to hell, for their sins, and cannot save themselves through works. Except by faith.
Is not that enough for someone to get saved?
Many people can hear and understand the hopelessness of working to heaven, yet can very much still hold on to their sins.
Cannot these people be saved James?

I concur with Rom. 10:9, but a distinction between just "knowing Jesus is God's Son" like (James 2:19), and being truly broken over ones sin (Luke 18:13) needs to be made.

Hey James, Jesus was not punished in hell?
Jesus went to collect the righteous and proclaim victory in hell?
I have never come across these teachings before, I cannot deduce anything from John 19 v30 other than that Christ died.
Hell is God's punishment on unbelievers, the only righteous person that ever wen't to hell was Christ, and he rejoiced because he knew he will come back up from hell (Psalm 16 v9-10)
The prayer is not what saves, it's the faith in your heart

Amen. Glad we concur.
The brother doing the talking in the video (4:30) said Jesus was punished in Hell, but John 19:30 makes it clear that the work/atonement that our Lord came for was finished at the cross, not in Hell.
Hope this helps?

Christ's work was not finished on the cross or in hell.
His earthly ministry was complete, but he had not gone to heaven to sprinkle his blood on the mercy-seat in heaven (Hebrews 9 v19-28)
That's why when he came back from the dead, He could not be touched (John 20 v17) Until he had gone up to heaven, his priestly duty was not complete. He had to make a propitiation for all sins.
After he came back, he could be touched. v27.

Keep also in mind Heb. 9:16:
"For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator."
His death on the cross saw the sinless lamb of God atone for the sins of the world (2 Cor. 5:21.)
Like I said in my latest video, upon His death His spirit went straight to be with God (Luke 23:46); His body remains in the tomb and His soul goes to Hell. After three days, body and soul are resurrected.
But I remain in John 19:30 for His finished work.
Blessings.

Christ as you know was the picture of the sacrifices in the old testament.
His death on the cross, pictured the slaying of the lamb, the roasting with fire pictured his departure to hell.
When does the blood aspect of the sacrifices take place?
He could not have offered the blood whilst he was in hell.
Why else would he have told Mary touch me not before had to ascended up to the father?
He had to make a provision for all men, before coming back and giving the great commission

I could probably do a full 30 minute video on John 20:17, and I would also cross reference it with Mark 16:12; Luke 24:16 and other verses, but in short all I will say is that our redemption was finalised at the cross. Paul always rejoiced in the cross, never His visit to Hell and back.
Go to go.
