@Banner1979 LOL! I was only kidding, Banner1979. I know how this ends. I have the DVD set. It's just when the video said "Patrick McGoohan vs. Patrick McGoohan," I decided to play a joke on it by saying, "Oooh, how exciting! I hope he wins!" Prompting you to go, "How DUMB are you? Patrick McGoohan is ONE person. How in the hell can he really go against himself? There's no way."
@jeprice08 Aha I get the joke now. Well, I should have titled it Evil Patrick McGoohan vs. Good Patrick McGoohan, that would have made it less confusing, wouldn't it? Lol. This is IMHO one of the best episodes.
@CI5AgentSweeps It is :). That explains why it's modern sounding. I've heard the audio commentary for this ep and the director says that McGoohan would film his scenes as no. 6 with stunt double Frank Maher then would do the same again but this time as no. 12, then they'd get the bits of film with McGoohan in them before splicing them together. :)
@Banner1979 That would be so that Pat would know where to look in the split screen scenes so his eye line wasn't off when he was looking at No.6/12 :)
@Banner1979 i read recently that mcgoohan accidently let maher have it in the filming of this scene and that mahers enthusiasm for the fight was even more realistic after that. a cool down period at the local pub that evening for the both of them.
@diggerodell100 Haha, not surprised. I also heard that in another episode, Pat McGoohan had a fight with Mark Eden and strangled him for real. Eden struggled to get him off him and I think some other cast or crew members had to pull McGoohan away.
@Banner1979 without looking it up on the dvd interview i believe the incident you speak of happened while filming a fight scene in a warehouse for a dangerman episode. mcgoohan took his fight scenes seriously and sometimes got a bit over enthusiastic. suprising more contact didnt happen.
One of my favorite episodes! Of course having not one, but two Patricks was delightful =) Thank you again Banner! The resolution on these uploads are also quite lovely =)
@CharityBarnum Cheers. This is one of my favourites as well and Patrick as always was superb in the dual role. The ending was quite clever, but with a twist.
@CI5AgentSweeps That's grade A editing for you :). Reminds me so much of a Hulk episode where Bill Bixby played both Banner and a crook who looked just like him :). I can remember the Columbo ep where he played a spy. There were short references in that to The Prisoner and Danger Man :).
Oooh, how exciting! I hope he wins!

@jeprice08 Let's say there is a peculiar twist to how he wins.

@Banner1979 Yeah, it would've, but as I said I've already seen the episode, so I already know how it ends.

This must have taken ages to film and edit :) Some of the sound effects aren't in my version of this ep. This must be the 5.1 version :)

@CI5AgentSweeps Well said, Sweeps. That would get him into character so that no.6 and no.12 look at each other the whole time. :)

It's very clever how they managed to hide the face of the other man during the fight and how they kept cutting between McGoohan playing No. 6/12 :)

I like him best in those 5 or 7 Columbo episodes in witch he played.
