If he recorded this for DECCA, he couldn't have recorded it in 1958, becuase he left DECCA in '56, and it sounds like a '56 recording of Buddy.... Still, very nice to hear it on vinyl :)
This is one of my favorite rockabilly songs I'm hoping to find this on a 45 sometime soon. Buddy Holly was a legend it's too bad he died so early. It's nice that there are people who have his music to put out there for other to enjoy. Hopefully buddy holly's music is around another 50 years from now to enjoy.
That`s rightl; The Beatles. August 20th 1960. First time they got to Germany, and he said one guy kept acting retarded which I see know was JOhn Lennon as he would do that all the time. When I saw Beatles anthology McCartney confirmed it about the leaking suits, they got the dye all over their hands from them sweating. Can you imagine? Offer to buy them jackets for 10 bucks sell them for a million today.
You want to hear a mind blowing story, my Grandfather in 1960 was in the Navy and had shore leave in Hamburg Germany and one day him and his buddies were walking down the Reeperbahn and they heard Buddy Holly coming from one club on the street so they went in and saw these dudes on stage wearing these purple suit jackets that were leaking, the dye was all over their hands but they were good, and he stayed for one song and beer then left because the beer cost too much. Guess who the band was?
Did you know that Buddy Holleys real name is Charles Holley, his family called him Buddy, so he changed it to Buddy Holley, THEN Decca Records misspelled his last name as Holly so he adopted the name as his professional name making Charles Holley Buddy Holly.
Fantastic Rockabilly tune from Mr. Holley. Everytime i'm hearing this tune it makes me wanna rock and roll, and hop skip and jump in Lubbock TX.....anyway this recording is from Owen Bradley's "The Barn" they cut it there. (nashville TN.) GOD what i LOVE this song, this is Mr. Holley and buddies in their right form, AND the form he (buddy) said as person he mostly liked to do. Thnx for posting this wonderful rockin' stuff!!
great song. the flip isn't bad, either. in fact, nothing he did was bad. buddy was one of a kind. ever flip 'maybe baby' over and listen to 'tell me how'? 'rave on', 'well, allright', and so many great songs. what would have been but for a cold morning in clear lake, iowa, when the music died?
Holly at his best. How was it that it was not a hit? Incredible.

@ballsdeep69420 Worth to mention is that in the late 30's a paper actually misspelt the entire family (including Buddy) "Holly".

Nope, this is the way Decca wanted Buddy to sing (more countrified) cause they didnt "get" Rock n Roll- this is exactly how its supposed to sound
