  • Technically it is not a G# he sings at the end but an Aflat and that is because the song is obviously in the key of Aflat. G# only occurs in keys of other names. There is no key of G#

  • @GrantKingMusic You should be careful about being so assertive, because if you had listened more carefully you would have noticed that the song initially is the key of G major. However, Mr. Pasjukov had a tendency to slightly and gradually alter the pitch of the entire choir. It is barely noticable, but he ends up being almost a semitone sharp, so that what is supposed to be a G1 is really closer to a G#1. Hope this clears things up, and that you put off that didactic attitude of yours.

  • @gudpeder I stand corrected. Thanks for posting these songs. I never get tired of listening to them.

  • @GrantKingMusic You're very welcome! :)

  • @GrantKingMusic Of course, this is under the assumption that the standard pitch A4 has a frequency of 440 Hz.

  • Apart from the immense uniqueness, power and range, this voice is so very beautiful in expression and timbre; I think this tops all beauty that I have heard up to this day! Oh what joy this has given me! Thank you for this incredible post!

  • you can tell just by looking at him he had high levels of testosterone.... his voice is a result of it I think! hehe

  • I commented once before and think this is the most incredible version of this. Especially the roar on the last verse. Just curious, how tall was he?

  • @GrantKingMusic He stood about 190 cm or thereabouts. Vladimir Miller is at 195 cm, I seem to have read, and Pasjukov was a little 'shorter' judging by photos.

  • Whoopsies... :/

  • Does anyone know the lyrics? I can't find them anywhere. :(

  • @SamuelKGB Please see the description...

  • How in the world could I get a cd of this guy? He is incredible! Are there such recordings available?

  • @lonemapper He can be heard on several tracks found on Male Choir of St. Petersburg CDs.

  • @lonemapper Thank you!

  • @lonemapper What GudPeder said. Those records can be on Amazon and on the Musica Russica website, which also offers sheet music and whatever else you might fancy in the way of Russian church music.

  • @KjeXXXer Also he recorded an earth shaking version of Sergey Rachmaninov's All-Night Vigil aka Vespers with the male choir Slogasie. Go to Aleksei5's channel and search for 'male choir accordance.' Fantastic beauty.

  • That's a glorious, spine-tingling version!

  • Could anybody here identify the choir, please?

  • @thomsonyeh Male Choir of St. Petersburg!

  • davvero una voce di un altro mondo, che pur cosí scura ha modulazioni, sfumature... Da brividi.

  • the other voices have big problems with the last note gis1:)

  • Да что же это такое с нашей страной делают?!!! Совсем выкорчевали из нас любовь к русским и русскому! Это же наши гении! Это же наши песни.

  • Magnificent! The high change is a surprise. Can your sound system cope?

  • well, never thought i'd come to a basso vid and be blown away by a high note. that's a first.

  • I just checked the keyboard. Pasujkov's low note at the end of this recording is a G1, not G#1. If you're using Baroque pitch, though, forget what I said.

  • @Abracadabra208 But at any rate, he sang this son-of-a-gun a semitone lower than Miller did. Incredible!

  • @Abracadabra208

My tuner says it's actually around 25 cents below the G#, so it's somewhere inbetween.

  • I felt the neeed to comment this video when I arrived at 3:23! I believe all of us, startled when we heard the gigantic roar of Vladimir Pasjukov!!! and at the end that powerfull G#1!!! Pasjukov was truly the best profondo of our time.

I have to thank deeply to gupeder for this wonderful rendition, that has made all of us profondo lovers very very very happy :)

  • Лучше всех!

  • I can't get over this! Huge roar! Who's the man?! Mr. Pasuikov is(was), that's who!!!

  • WOW Whatta voice! Sick! Insane range upwards for a profondo! And what a power and hypermasculine timbre in the super low! I am awed. This is the best profundo showcase that I've heard so far.

  • @ajwolf Of course, Wichniakov has been recorded up to A4, which is tenor range, and later plunging to E1 in the same song, just because he fucking can. :D It's in another one of Gudpeder's vids, be sure to check them all out.

  • @KjeXXXer If he has an A4 he can probably go higher. That's pretty much the hardest note for a bass to hit. Above the passaggio you're in the clear whether you're a bass or a soprano.

  • The Best !!

  • Unbelievable

  • 4:40 !!

  • Thanks for this recording. Wow. This is the best rendition I have heard.

  • 3'23'' : earthquake!

  • This has to be one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard in my life.

  • Impressive high note. Better than tenors.

  • Such a gifted artist deserved a tribute: a rare recording of the "Twelve robbers" by Pasyukov reminds me what an artist he remains forever.

  • WOW, Hvor fant du denne innspillingen? Jeg ønsker å laste ned den! Hvordan remaster du gjøre opptak? Takk for videoene dine! :))))

  • Thank you, Mr. Holman and Taviskaron15! Mr. Pasjukov is and always will be my favorite basso profondo. His singing reminds me of the singing of elder churchmen that I loved as extra "grandfathers": unmistakable masculinity and powerful, passionate sincerity, combined occasionally with touching signs of human imperfection. Thus I have grieved for Mr. Pasjukov with some of the feeling of loss I have felt for "singing grandfathers" who have passed... but this recording has brought me comfort.

  • Tusen hjertelig takk, Peder! Dritbra remaster. Wow.. @ 3:23 For en sanger han var!

    Also: Spasiba, Taviskaron!!

  • @KjeXXXer Takk for det! Denne innspillingen er utrolig... Den avsluttende tonen er jo helt syk!

  • This is great . Many thanks for sharing .

  • Nicely done remastering. Thank you for posting these!
