this literally makes me tear up... To think that such a piece can have so much passion put into it and so much creativity.. It just goes to show why the human race is the most superior in the world...
True, but Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody # 2 is really popular, it's been in a lot of cartoons. I hummed the famous line of the Friska to my friends, and all of them have heard it before, whereas when I hummed some Mozart pieces that have been on media, they've never heard it. :P
It's not a song. I'm not much of a music nerd myself, and the debates I see on such wonderful pieces of music annoy the crap out of me. But some basic musical literacy isn't a bad thing, and this is not a song. Britney Spears sings songs. Do you hear any singing here?
It's MUSIC.. get over yourselves... Songs, Melodies, Pieces, Sonatas, Rhapsodies, Symphonies, Instrumentals.. whatever your terminology, its MUSIC.. so LISTEN to it..
@sugahmama1234 ...This is NOT a "song" and should not be called one, this is called a "piano piece". In order for something to be considered a "song", it must have/consist of vocals and/or lyrics, this piece has neither.
@oHsNaP1337 Yes, at last! Someone else who agrees with me. Mendelssohn wrote 'A song without words' wonder why he called it that then, was it because songs have words? Where does this trend come from?
@oHsNaP1337 thats factually incorrect, a song can be just instrumentals. replacing the singing of a voice (an instrument) with a man made instrument..
@sugahmama1234 It's a rhapsody :P which is a short form symphonic poem usually for only one instrument (as opposed to an entire orchestra). It was a series of pieces dedicated to since employers, an Hungarian prince named Esterhazy.
@3StoneRoberts hey dude, my girlfriend made this comment (jen1989z). Find and blame her, seriously se deserves it. She thinks she is a pianist but she ruins the video with this comment! Well ok, it maybe sucks, but i appreciate all kinds of music. i wouldn't comment like she did before.
Lisztomania. This is the guy the song was inspired by. It was one of the first instances of what we know today as either "Beatlemania" or perhaps "Bieber Fever", depending on how old you are.
The breaking point seven or eight seconds after 5:50 , is that's how it feels to wake up in Hungary?
"I lost my shoes , where's my hat. I forgot my belt! The cat is walking into my bedroom , i forgot my wallet , i forgot my keys! I didn't turn of the oven , the phone is still on the bedsite!"
when I just started to listen to this version, I tought it is another overrated piece of H.R no.2...but after 4.00 everything changed and my heart was like floating on the sky....so far the best version of H.R.no.2 that i've heard!!!

@thinBillyBoy I see your statement, everyone loves Steinbach black concert pianos. What I really think is that it could be worse. Sometimes it's authentic to take the piece's expression and express it with the piano itself. sorry for my english
@PaladinswordSaurfang it's way more difficult to play than the flight of the bumblebee, especially if you're talking about Rachmaninov's version of it. Cziffra's version, maybe, but these are difficult pieces. If you know how to play the piano, none of these pieces would you consider easy or not that hard. Now if you compare it to let's say Cziffra's tritsch tratsch polka or On the beautiful blue danbue, yeah this would look like a day in the park, but why don't you try it to see how easy it is.
@kamikento i agree its hard to play, i just don't think it seems that hard to play... i mean, people say it's the hardest piano piece in the world but flight of the bumblebee looks harder...
@PaladinswordSaurfang It may not be the most difficult thing to play, but it is definitely one of the most difficult things to perform. See the difference?
I rediscovered this one through the bombing sequence of Atomic Cafe. If you're curious, you can see that sequence here on YT. The editing of that scene with this composition was pretty well done.. Then there's that solo by Harpo Marx..Anyway, not all of us get this kind of stuff just from Cartoons.
