  • this literally makes me tear up... To think that such a piece can have so much passion put into it and so much creativity.. It just goes to show why the human race is the most superior in the world...

  • god damn i love this. this playing alone is enough to make this art real.

  • The reason that made me start playing piano was to play the songs in my own favourite style, but this interpretation doesnt need any change at all!

  • shut up and listen!

  • Well technically it stil could be called a song because by your definition, it does a contain a 'voice'. The piano is very much a voice of its own.

  • not a song. but it is an absolutely magnificent piece of music.

  • Franz Liszt is one of the only composers who's songs haven't been overused to death in commercials/tv shows/movies like Beethoven and Mozart.

  • @AssassinRecruit

True, but Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody # 2 is really popular, it's been in a lot of cartoons. I hummed the famous line of the Friska to my friends, and all of them have heard it before, whereas when I hummed some Mozart pieces that have been on media, they've never heard it. :P

  • It's not a song. I'm not much of a music nerd myself, and the debates I see on such wonderful pieces of music annoy the crap out of me. But some basic musical literacy isn't a bad thing, and this is not a song. Britney Spears sings songs. Do you hear any singing here?

  • It's MUSIC.. get over yourselves... Songs, Melodies, Pieces, Sonatas, Rhapsodies, Symphonies, Instrumentals.. whatever your terminology, its MUSIC.. so LISTEN to it..

  • is it ok to call it music?

  • THIS IS A SONG DAMMIT!

  • Its a song, voice is just another instrument ! So its a song no one has to be singing !!!!

  • I HAVE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM!!

but I can't because i have to stay till the end

  • @relbl well la de da i think it can still be called a song. But thanks for the other opptions

  • @sugahmama1234 ...This is NOT a "song" and should not be called one, this is called a "piano piece". In order for something to be considered a "song", it must have/consist of vocals and/or lyrics, this piece has neither.

  • @oHsNaP1337 Yes, at last! Someone else who agrees with me. Mendelssohn wrote 'A song without words' wonder why he called it that then, was it because songs have words? Where does this trend come from?

  • @oHsNaP1337 thats factually incorrect, a song can be just instrumentals. replacing the singing of a voice (an instrument) with a man made instrument..

  • @oHsNaP1337 How's that definition supposed to fit for Post-Rock bands?

  • @oHsNaP1337 Who gives a f*ck?

  • It's called a piece? maybe? just a guess..

  • @organicrooster a MASTERpiece

  • Oh and also if it isn't called a song whats it called?

  • @sugahmama1234 It's a rhapsody :P which is a short form symphonic poem usually for only one instrument (as opposed to an entire orchestra). It was a series of pieces dedicated to since employers, an Hungarian prince named Esterhazy.

  • Oops sorry aloniko5 my bad .

  • Aloniko5 why are you swearing i'm only 12 that was completely uncalled for !

  • @sugahmama1234

Lol. It was urblade82 who used the "F" word, not me.

  • @alonkiko5 how is it not a song?

  • @sugahmama1234 Because there is nobody fucking singing.

  • @ublade82 LOL

  • Did liszt write the song?

  • @sugahmama1234

It's not a song, and yeah, he did.

  • I waited for applause in the end of this song

  • I love the big chord sounds (:

  • Liszt kinda looks like Lord Farquad

  • 14 people got hurt by jerry while playing this

  • i like 5:50 and onward

  • Comment removed

  • te amo!

  • I would say this is my favorite interpretation.

  • @FFB1193 Mine too!

  • Lisztomania

  • 14 people lost their fingers trying to play this.

  • 8===D

  • Lets see if keyboard cat can play this

  • i play piano and listening to this is just depressing :( <3

  • This sucks. now , i will be happy to receive all the negative comments. BRING IT ON BITCH!!

  • @sossuor Obvious troll is REALLY obvious. I mean if you're going to troll at least fucking try.

  • @3StoneRoberts hey dude, my girlfriend made this comment (jen1989z). Find and blame her, seriously se deserves it. She thinks she is a pianist but she ruins the video with this comment! Well ok, it maybe sucks, but i appreciate all kinds of music. i wouldn't comment like she did before.

  • We are proud of U Franz! /Büszkék vagyunk rád Liszt Ferenc/

    bY a hungarian man :)

  • ... i was pretending to play this piece on my desk... what do I get? My dad yelling for the loud pounding and my hands turning red...

  • Dude o_o

  • how many hands are required to play this piece?

  • Thumbs up if you brought yourself here. zzz

  • Incredible!!!!!

  • why would 14 people dislike this...? actually... why would anyone dislike this?

  • @uglymooseshirt

    1. Having an IQ south of 100

    2. Being raised on MTV and Rap music

  • bugs bunny

  • Lisztomania. This is the guy the song was inspired by. It was one of the first instances of what we know today as either "Beatlemania" or perhaps "Bieber Fever", depending on how old you are.

  • Video could be hi-res... rest is perfect.

  • Does the bit from 1:40 remind anyone of tetris?

  • First time I heard this was on tom and jerry. I loved it ever since.

  • Orgasmal!!!

  • liszt is still to this day the greatest pianist of all time

  • Great... now I gotta go back and find LilGrey456 's comment.

  • @redshark618 Why didn't noone thumb your comment up?

  • .....Liszt brought me here.

  • Victor Borge brought me here.

  • Youtube says it's by Sylivia Capova, the title says Josef Bulva, which is it?

  • did anybody come here beause this song is great but then go and watch tom and jerry??!!

    at least i did

  • Happy 200th birthday Franz!

  • the Cat Concerto was just... amazing... this is 200 times better.

  • Tom And Jerry

  • Ok everyone posting that you came here for tom and jerry?! Amazing. But I came here because he is amazing and a music genius.

  • @misstunning123 La di freakin da

  • when I just started to listen to this version, I tought it is another overrated piece of H.R no.2...but after 4.00 everything changed and my heart was like floating on the sky....so far the best version of H.R.no.2 that i've heard!!!

  • I always wondered what that song was in that one episode of Tom & Jerry. Good times...

  • this is incredible

  • damn I'd be tired as Tom if I played this song on the piano... I mean, if I could.

  • I'm playing this piece, and I started a week ago. But from what I'm hearing... I got the rhythm a bit wrong... dang, you're good. >.>

  • bellissimo

  • Listening to this just makes my heart feel like bursting.

  • Bulva is a true maestro. He almost invariably has the only classical interpretations worth listening to. Pure genius.

  • wow! :O

  • Wow. Im proud of being Hungarian and love Liszt Ferenc. :p

  • @Yarmox I thought that his nam was Franz Liszt?

  • @Yarmox I thought that his name was Franz Liszt?

  • Thumbs up if Tom and Jerry or Rhapsody Rabbit brought you here? :)

  • @1234EMP No, it was the piano duet between Daffy and Donald.

  • @1234EMP Please fuck off with the thumbs up shit... Thanks

  • @1234EMP Thumbs down if they didn't? DONE.

  • @1234EMP It was actually Donald and Duffy in Who framed Roger Rabbit! ;)

  • GUILTY! lmao

  • @1234EMP thumbs up if you are tired of people doing dumb pandering to get thumbs up and you came here cause you like franz liszt not because of cartoons like a five year old

  • @ben122692 Oh I'm sorry but the last time I checked, you're in control of your mouse and if you're tired of seeing such comments, then banish yourself from YouTube so you can stop setting yourself up to get pissed off :)

  • @1234EMP Also, you just tried to get onto me for the "Thumbs Up" comments, which happens to be entertained by millions, but yet you just did one yourself. So you basically just contradicted yourself, sir.

  • The breaking point seven or eight seconds after 5:50 , is that's how it feels to wake up in Hungary?

We love you're compositions Franz Liszt!

  • i first herd dis song watchn tom&jerry soo i had to find dis song

  • 5:06 is by far my favourite bit.

  • soft, touching but powerful and rapid at moments. Can't express my admiration for this piece. No wonder its the most known among all 19 rhapsodies.

  • this is on saints row

  • I especially like this interpretation.

  • buzz lightyear

  • esta não é a música do pica-pau tocando piano em um trem desgovernado com um ladrão dentro do piano?!

  • why's this music always in cartoons??????

  • @kookamongadrum because nothing captures emotion like this song.

  • woody

  • Tom and Jerry!!

  • logofreak98: I hear you! My first intro to all the classics was Bugs Bunny! Classically funny, and phenomenal music!

  • reminds me of a time when i was 5 years old kid..tom and jerry..this is music.not house rap and idk how do they call the rest of shit that plays today

  • Bugs Bunny bought me here.

  • tom and jerry shhound be jealous!!!!!!!!!

  • Tom and Jerry <3

  • Epic prestissimo!

  • 7:08 - 7:10 seems "chord-ish" and "rock-ish"~ nevertheless, AWESOME! lol

  • Ahhh Tom And Jerry Brought me Here

  • @AeliSenpai yeah, me too :)

  • 5:56 - 6:09 <3

  • one of my all-time favourite liszt pieces

  • I just had dessert with my ears!

  • Absolutley amazing.

  • I think Liszt would've appreciated Bulva's rendition better than any other. I certainly do.

  • He captures the sound of the orchestra so well. This is how the rhapsody is meant to be played.

  • 11 personas no tienen manos xD!!! es como la sexta vez que la escucho ^^!

  • I have a orgams!

  • @dzul50 orgasm! ¬¬! xD!

  • Those poor 11 people who haven't got a soul and pressed the dislike button........

  • @Pepethebrother They might have thought the dislike button was the 'Jealous Button'

  • 5:58 to 6:16 = sooo good. Wait, what am I talking about? It's all soo good!

  • In my oppinion, its really the best interpretation of this piece.

Everyone else plays the slow parts too fast, and the fast parts too slow.

Bulva's the best interpeter of this piece, and no other...

  • @XAnalogmanX Couldn't agree more. Bulva's interpretation is perfect.

  • la mejor version a la que mis oidos no se cansan jamas de escucharla......gracias frank listz

  • i've listened to tons of interpretations of this piece and i've got to say that this is by far my favorite....

  • Of all the cartoon versions... The Donald/Daffy Duck Duet from Who Framed Roger Rabbit is the best. I want to see them do the whole piece.

  • @thinBillyBoy I see your statement, everyone loves Steinbach black concert pianos. What I really think is that it could be worse. Sometimes it's authentic to take the piece's expression and express it with the piano itself. sorry for my english

  • No offense, he plays amazingly, but he could do with a better piano.

  • This was also played by Bugs Bunny. Bugs FTW.

  • this doesnt seem that hard to play ...if you compare it to flight of the bumblebee and stuff like that

  • @PaladinswordSaurfang it's way more difficult to play than the flight of the bumblebee, especially if you're talking about Rachmaninov's version of it. Cziffra's version, maybe, but these are difficult pieces. If you know how to play the piano, none of these pieces would you consider easy or not that hard. Now if you compare it to let's say Cziffra's tritsch tratsch polka or On the beautiful blue danbue, yeah this would look like a day in the park, but why don't you try it to see how easy it is.

  • @kamikento tl;dr

  • @PaladinswordSaurfang the hand tremolos are not easy to play at all in this piece.

  • @PaladinswordSaurfang It's hard as shit and you should try playing it if you think it's easy.

  • @kamikento i agree its hard to play, i just don't think it seems that hard to play... i mean, people say it's the hardest piano piece in the world but flight of the bumblebee looks harder...

  • @PaladinswordSaurfang It may not be the most difficult thing to play, but it is definitely one of the most difficult things to perform. See the difference?

  • @PaladinswordSaurfang Do you play piano? If you do, I'm surprised you'd make such a comment. It is indeed VERY hard.

  • You can have 'em play this at my funeral :-)

  • Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes (Rabbit Rhapsody) and Trans-Siberian Orchestra.... 3 great renditions of this piece!

  • I'd love to see the video,too:X it's amazing..

  • I've been deaf for 17 years. Today, I hear.

  • I love this piece so much, it's really a testament to the man's insane amount of talent.

  • franz liszt was suppose to be one of the greatest composers to develop the left hand... he wanted to be that "paganni of the piano"

    all his work is amazing

  • perhaps one of the best arrangements of all time!

  • The part at 5:07 kinda reminds me of Tetris. Don't you guys agree with me?

  • Agradezco a Dios por permitir que todos podamos escuchar estas hermosas melodías gratis a través del internet.

  • 1:23 beautiful

  • I know this because of a Tom & Jerry cartoon, may sound silly but since then it blew my mind...

  • 10 people who dont like this amazing music, they are not human beings :D i think

  • @KicsiJordan i don´t think they don´t like the music, but the work of the interpreter..every human feels it differently :)

  • I rediscovered this one through the bombing sequence of Atomic Cafe. If you're curious, you can see that sequence here on YT. The editing of that scene with this composition was pretty well done.. Then there's that solo by Harpo Marx..Anyway, not all of us get this kind of stuff just from Cartoons.

  • Liszt kinda looks like Lord Farquaad from Shrek. hahaha..Great Song Though!

  • @LilGrey456 It is Lord Farquaad that looks like Liszt.

  • @LilGrey456 he always reminds me of ozzy too..

  • @LilGrey456 only Liszt came in tall size. hahaaha

  • @LilGrey456 the 37 people who liked your comment.....nevermind......i had best not get into it.

  • @Oadinatz what you about now?

  • @LilGrey456 I think he looks like Snape.

  • @LilGrey456 actually, he was quite the Ladies man in his day... :)

  • Starting at 6:00, THAT is amazing! :)

  • Wonderful!

  • Woody Woodpecker

  • sounds like it well diversified and good range in style he sounds like a well mannered human being

  • gereat sound!!

  • my favorite part starts at 5:06 called "Friska Part" and 5:58 was Epic

  • Josef Bulva played this amazingly... I'm in awe.

  • Perfect :D
