No, it was a game breaking bug. The game randomly crashed for no reasons and the team couldn't fix it. So they re-built the entire mod from scratch on the orange box engine. Ramping up to release now! DOGMEAT, I'M WAITING ON YOU!

they didnt rebuild it , they ported it accross , and in doing so made some additions

Well, that's what it seemed like. The team couldn't find what was causing the error, so rly it should be the game kept crashing from an unknown reason but you get my drift...
