The Bible is not just a book that says "Do this", or "Do that" as this man is portraying. In 1 Corinthians 11 Paul was referring to a practice that was common in the church at that time in that area. I used to think love and forgiveness were the only two commandments, but they aren't. Faith that Jesus is the only way because no one else ever gave their life for you, and also stay true to all the commandments as these are life saving, all have earthy consequences. Already the guy is mis-quoting the bible scriptures inaccurately. Paul did not say for a woman to shave off her hair at any point in 1 corinthians 11:1-16. Paul spoke about a woman's head being uncovered dishonours her head (the man) as she is the glory of man, and man is not to cover his head as he is the image and glory of God.

The Bible is not just a book that says "Do this", or "Do that" as this man is portraying. In 1 Corinthians 11 Paul was referring to a practice that was common in the church at that time in that area. A wife who covered her hair brought honor to her husband. It was custom at that time too that adulterous women were punished by having their heads shaved. I used to think love and forgiveness were the only two commandments, but they aren't. Faith that Jesus is the only way because no one else ever gave their life for you, and also stay true to all the commandments as these are life saving, all have earthy consequences. We were told to confess ALL your sins - you'll be forgiven. Also we were told then TO TURN AWAY from sin, so not just confess it but also turn away from it.
The afterlife with Jesus has LAWS like a family home to keep it safe.

Already the guy is mis-quoting the bible scriptures inaccurately. Paul did not say for a woman to shave off her hair at any point in 1 corinthians 11:1-16. Paul spoke about a woman's head being uncovered dishonours her head (the man) as she is the glory of man, and man is not to cover his head as he is the image and glory of God.

I believe the only true path we must follow is not a religious one. we must promote democratic values, we must promote logic and tolerance. we must live by the democratic law and punish the offender no matter what that girl was wearing cause there is no justification for rape. education starts at home so we must give our children these values. there is no quick fix to society's ills

@Raelsatu I don't think he means literal rape, I think he's talking about public sex (or acts of sexual nature in general) and yeah, definitely in some European countries that's not something that is 'uncommon'. It's just a different culture though. The veil doesn't cover the face btw. And I don't know why is everyone hung up about the veil thing? where I live, veil is a matter of choice and most women do it because they choose to. It's also a different culture.
