Congratulations on the solo. 2 things, DCA doesn't have 162, its a 152, you might wanna edit that, and 2 I left DCA a month before your solo, I don't even know if I met you, but good luck. I like how Bob (the air traffic controller) switched runways on you.
When is your check ride? Do they rent planes where you get your instruction? If not, there is a place on the south side of the airport, the name of the place is ATA.
They have 4-5 172's, a 152, a Katana, a Piper Lance,and a Piper Senica (twin). Their rates are good, the planes are maintained well, and the people are friendly. I've been renting with them for about a year.
I had the same thing happen to me on my second solo-the crosswinds were gusting to 20+. Not a very comfortable feeling when you are up at 4,000 feet and having to make some changes on your final. Still shakes me up thinking about it.
Nice. I flew that airplane when it was at SFB.
