i think dinagyang is the best festival in the philippines. im from manila and ive been to masskara(bacolod) and sinulog(cebu) but i think dinagyang(iloilo) ranks first? Ay mali pala. sinulog pala kasi sila ang 3 times grandslam hall of famer,world class na sila, second is masskara, both have cultural linkages.. dinagyang is only street dancing to pop musics and parang warshock dancers covered by aspalt and grease nakipag away ng judge pag natalo. ay nakakahiya. dats only my opinion...

noong tiempo hapon WW2 kilala ang mga sundalo na ILONGGO na pinaka matapang, hindi natatakot sa mga baril ng mga hapon. ngunit nang naobusan na ng bala ang mga hapon at malapit na mag surender sumigaw ang kumander ng mga HAPON na FIX BAYONET at biglang nag takbohan ang mga ILONGGO, ayaw na daw nila, FIX BAYONET na, oowi at matanim nlang sila ng kamote sa ILOILO, mahirap na FIX BAYONET pag naholi daw sila malamang TUTULIIN na sila at alam nman natin na takot at ayaw mag PATULI ang mga ILONGGO..

Durano is from Cebu and who happened to be the guest that time thats why they let Sinulog won the competition but the again the following year Sec. Durano was not invited already to the competition still SINULOG bested all other contingent...and won for the second time...well..well ..
ALIWAN is just a competition. like Dinagyang Festival tribe competiton. Dinagyang is still the BEST TOURISM EVENT IN THE PHILIPPINES.thats more important than winning Aliwan which is a mere competition.

The Aliwan Festival 2008 Streetdance competition Criteria for judging are: Choreography 30%, Performance 30%, Timing and Rhythm 30%, and Costume 10%.
This is the criteria for judging, it clearly shows that there is no AUDIENCE IMPAC in the criteria. I hope aliwan organizers will give a "CROWD-FAVORITE AWARD" OR maybe through TEXT VOTES or ONLINE VOTING, para rin naman hindi na crowd ang pagbabasehan! CROWD is not a part of the dfance its merely and added excitement.

maraming mg taga bacolod nag kwento sa akin during the last aliwan 2008 na mas maganda pa raw ang masskara kay sa dinagyang. nag ponta lang ang mga tga bacolod sa manila just to watch cebu'sinulog performing in aliwan comparing on how they perform back in cebu..dinaan lang daw sa yabang dinagyang piro buring daw pa balik balik lng ang style parang sirang plaka..........

hindi pa ba sapat ang pinalabas ng Paghidaet...Ginawa na nila ang lahat para mapaganda yung performance....marami silang magagandang custom para ma amaze ang mga nanonood at ang mga hurado...pero iba talaga ang taste ng judges...may kinalaman d2 ang cebu... parang walang kahirap hirap gumawa ng sayaw kasi recycle lang....bakit pa nagustohan ng judges.....Bwisit...
para matapos na ang lahat mag peperform nalang sila sa harap ni "GMA" para malaman
pero champion parin ang dinagyang!!!

Okay lang yan kahit di tayu nanalo!! cguro nga iba lang yung taste ng mga judges, di nila ma appreciate na gani2 talaga yung festival natin.. as long as madaming nagandahan sa dinagyang, okay na samin yun! Congratulations to Tribu Paghidaet, you were awesome. We, Ilonggos are very proud of you. I know Dinagyang Festival will come a long way because of your wonderful performance in Aliwan. being the best festival lies within the hearts of the people and not merely on the hearts of the judges!! ^^

wowow!CONGRATS to Cebu,you guys will stand out during the competition..and im so proud being cebuano just dont mind people who criticize us..before..they said they let Cebu win the competition because Sec. Durano is from Cebu and who happened to be the guest that time thats why they let Sinulog won the competition but the again the following year Sec. Durano was not invited already to the competition still SINULOG bested all other contingent...and won for the second time...well..well ..

ALIWAN is just a competition. like Dinagyang Festival tribe competiton. Dinagyang is still the BEST TOURISM EVENT IN THE PHILIPPINES.thats more important than winning Aliwan which is a mere competition.

The Aliwan Festival 2008 Streetdance competition Criteria for judging are: Choreography 30%, Performance 30%, Timing and Rhythm 30%, and Costume 10%.
This is the criteria for judging, it clearly shows that there is no AUDIENCE IMPAC in the criteria. I hope aliwan organizers will give a "CROWD-FAVORITE AWARD" OR maybe through TEXT VOTES or ONLINE VOTING, para rin naman hindi na crowd ang pagbabasehan! CROWD is not a part of the dfance its merely and added excitement.

jhay, when dinnagyang would entyer in aliwan, they should cut almose two mins of their performance... so ganyan palagi... different na ang output pagdating ng aliwan...

AT alam nio ba na nag batuhan pa ung mga taga CEBU at ALIKWARAW?...both came from the same festival yet nagkakaalitan pa. nauna daw nambato ung mga tge CEbu..
