  • Comment removed

  • That's a huge freakin' carrot. o.O

  • Optional :

Step 1 : Take your wallet and your coat

Step 2 : Go to the downtown

Step 3 : Go in the nearest japanese restaurant

    Step 4 : Eat.

  • Oh no! My reverse marathon of cooking with dog is almost at an end!! O_O

  • 豚汁いいね~外国の人にもお勧め絶対美味しいと思う

    ところでゴボウとか大根サトイモ手に入るのかな?

  • @thekiaralady the guy talking is actually his husband, but they pretend it's the dog to make it interesting

  • 料理と英語の勉強になって、一石二鳥ですね!

  • that little packet she holds up at 1:47 reminds me of just one thing "YOU CAN USE THE PACKET SAUCE!" thumbs up if you get the reference XD

  • I happen to know where to get these items. :)

  • The dog stares hungrily at the food, kinda makes me hungry

  • what is the dog for?

  • @Lumak1 he is the host. he's the one talking.

  • "Pork fat makes tonjiru tasty." Pork fat makes everything tasty, Francis.

  • do you guys know that soup where when ppl eat together and all they do is add meat and vegetables in a hot pot. I forgot that it's called.

  • @33GTRVSPEC

Exactly. It's called a Hot Pot. LOL. It's one of the dishes where you can put anything you want in it and the broth could be any flavor, so there really isn't a specific way of calling it. So I just call it Hot Pot. Haha

  • @33GTRVSPEC In Japan, people share "Nabe", "Shabu shabu" and "Suki yaki" which all can involve meat and vegetables in a hot pot and all of which are delicious!

  • I found my ingredients at a Asian Market ^^

  • Very good. Delicious!!! Easy to make!!

  • I love all your receipts. Simple, well explained and at a good rate. Also it is good. Thank you.

    The dog is well behaved!

  • i find this sad for the dog.

  • old-school vid

  • i can't find some of this stuff :(

  • She looks younger now than she does in this video!

  • Turn on transcribe audio (it's on the "CC" in red)

  • @123matt567 LOL. I can understand better what he's actually saying compared to the CC.

  • @Cherrierune And the thing is CC doesn't even make sense.

  • @123matt567 very true :)

  • if you're confused by those ingredients, here's the alternatives you can find in supermarket:

    Daikon= radish

    Gobo=Burdock

    shiitake= mushroom with black top

    satoimo= taro

    negi= large green onion

and the confusing first ingredient is actually some kind of tense vegetable jelly without flavor, i think you can easily find these in chinese supermarket =w=

    have fun

  • @astorothcr

Daikon is a large relative of the radish. It's flesh is spicy and full of water but it mellows and softens when well cooked. It's porous nature allows it to absorb the flavor of anything its cooked with.

  • i love love japanese foods. =)

  • haha that dog is trying to get off the stool

  • that pork looks super fresh!

  • did he say SAKE!!!

  • thank you from the Caribbean

  • her hair's different now

  • @myfavoritecupcake she looks younger also XDD

  • One of the best things about moving to New York is that these ingredients are super-easy to find. There are Japanese supermarkets everywhere.

  • I DO NOT WANT TO CHOP NEGI UP! HE'S MY FAVORITE MAGICIAN!

  • @barrin666 lol ilove your comment

  • oishiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • Can I use shrimp instead of pork? Will that work? :P

  • I've got this video, the ingredients and a dog to assist me (ok, no poodle, but a german shepherd), so I'm ready and anxious to make this soup!

    It looks so good.

  • hontoni oishiiii....

  • Love You Love You Love You だいすき! I made this for dinner and my family loved it XD

  • thumbs up if you think this is the best cooking videos youve seen that has a dog in it

  • "this comment will be randomly liked"

  • @pwj223

    Yea

  • すばらし!:D

    俺は日本好きです。

  • this is just so simple and delicious, especially in the winter time!

  • that dog is going to burn his paws off one day, I just know it.

  • konnyaku is konjac

    ninjin is carrot

    negi is spring onion

  • @hanzimaster negi is welsh onion

  • Wow, that dog is trained but why is making sushi oh, well i`ll go to a other place that does have sushi like Taco Bell.

  • The most wonderful ingredience is health. Japanese cooking impresses me on a mental level, that every bite I take makes me healthier and healthier, rathen than American bad-food karma where the thinking is every bite I take makes me fat or sick. We are what we think having become what we thought because people are organic and take in what they are fed.

  • Wish I could get all the ingredients, sadly i can't get miso anywhere around where I live heck I'd hate to even attempt to find some of the vegetables

  • i think he meant turn down the stove, right?

  • Miso soup is simple and I believe that Miso soup has the effect of helping digestion. :)

  • nice cooking:)

  • My stomach never growled this loudly before. :D

  • I just made this recipe and I loved it. However, the satoimo made my hands very itchy from the peel. I recommend if you feel these symptoms that you wear food preparation gloves. This was very healthy, but quite delicious. I plan to make this often from now on.

  • I just made this. It is so delicious, fresh, and full of healthy vegetables. I think this will be a recipe I make quite frequently.

  • I would like to know what miso did she use o.O. Was it brown coloured? Looks like brown to me. Could I also use other coloured miso?

  • is the sliced pork, streaky bacon?

  • @1986cherrelle

    it's sliced pork belly.

  • all these ingredients are easy to get...at your local Super Asian Grocery Market like the one I have here :D

  • I swear I will go to japan some day, among other countries, just to try the food. Call me a glutton but food, cooking and eating, is my passion!

  • @sweaty3377 That's my plan too :)

  • the dog wants to get off the stool

  • 彼女と結婚すれば、毎日おいしい料理が食べ放題!

    --

If I would marry her, I could eat all delicious cuisines that I want, every day.

  • PS Poodles and Maltese dont "shed"....I have these and I LOVETHE VIDEOS!!!! Huggz ;)

  • I don't like satoimo .

  • her children are very lucky to have her as their mother!

  • If there's any Chinese, Korean, or Japanese markets around you, you should be able to find most if not all of them.

  • por k ai un perro en su kocina??

  • @baket69 a si son los japoneses. esa raza de perro es una raza limpia..

  • I don't think there's any such thing as Japanese food that isn't 100% delicious

  • Can you substitute the Saki with Mirin?(its like sweetened Saki)

  • sake is just alcohol.. replace it with any clear tasteless booze rice wine, gin, sherry or vodka xD

  • @Roflcopter565 I don't think so...sake has some alcohol content but mirin is like liquid sugar

  • Gobo is a burdock root ,daikon ,a very big radish and konnyaku is called devil's tongue jelly, lol! If you dont have satsuma imo you can use any kind of potato instead. Can try also any kind of vegetable you have, just be careful not to overcook them. This dish is very appreciated in winter time, becouse makes you warm. Thank you for posting all these recipe, I did tried some of them and yes, are delicious!!

  • Ive never heard of gobo where do you get that?

  • What is conakgu?

    What is it made of?

First time I heard of it I thought it was the drink.

  • konnyaku (こんにゃく) is made of a specific kind of potato (called konnyaku-imo).

It has chewy texture and stone-like looks.

Often used in traditional Japanese cuisine.

  • It's a plant with starcy corms, it tastes like jello.

  • haha only ingredients i can get are pork, sesame oil and carrot LOL

  • If U look in ur phone book Im sure U could find a Japanese specialty store, provided U dont live out in the middle of nowhere lol.

  • @MiClLC

i could get all the ingredient if i wanted, i'd just have to drive for 3 hours to the neares asian store :)

not enought of them in denmark :(

  • my god, every recipe you say the ingredients are hard to find.

    but a very delicious video

  • What exactly is Konnyaku ;_; ? I am sorry if it's weird question but... it is no vegetable or animal, is it ? I would like to know please ! Good recipe again ^^

  • its is vegetable

  • No, konnyaku is made from a plant, it's like a jelly that's used in Asian dishes, a bit like how tofu is used.

  • looks like jelly~ there's clear/white and grey/black... sold in blocks or noodley shapes, virtually 0 calories i believe and i really like it in sukiyaki and this dish :)

  • its a kind of jelly-like health food made from the Konnyaku potato

  • konnyaku is made from konnyaku-potato

  • food look good..

  • can u give more chicken recipe tutorials, like chicken ramen, and like chicken miso or something....

  • miso as we also call it in the Philippines..

    thank you for this vid...

  • love these videos

  • i enojy watching your videos theyre very well documented, and performed, sadly im allergic to pork so i have to replace everything with beef or chicken, do you have any other recipes with chicken, or beef?, besides the ones on your page, ive seen them all, all theyre excellent...i made the dango recipe, and gyudon my husband enjoyed it....thank you, for sharing...n.n

  • i fucken love their videos . they always cook fresh ingredients with very lil instant / pre-made stuffs .

  • I agree, and because there's hardly any pre-made stuff going in there it's so much more healthy for you; that's why Japanese cooking is my favourite type :D

  • the chef is the narrator's wife.. and the dog is their dog.. whats the problem seriously?..

  • the chef is the wife of the dog owning husband/narrorator

  • the chef is the wife

  • @MapleTraveler NOOO!!! you've ruined it, Francis is the dog!! :'(

  • something amusicng: my research into konnyaku led me to this video! lol

Yup yup, it's used as the vegan substitute for gelatin* :)

*God bless the wikipedia founders* :)

  • Francis is adorable and the cooking teacher too .

    Very tasty dish .

    Thanks for share .

  • OMG it's ken tanaka

  • Miso is my favorite kind of soup. I've never thought of adding meat and vegetables to it. Looks like Francis was getting a little restless, haha. He's so cute. Love your videos.

  • arigatto!!

  • Aww the Dog is so cute ,can you tell me please ,what is Konnyaku? Thanks

  • Konnyaku is a type of vegetable jelly, look under "konjac" for more info. This ingredient is valued more for its texture than its taste.

  • Thanks so much to let ne know mete, i love japnese cooking, i almost have everything in my kitchen to follow these easy recipes, now i understand more better, cheers!!

  • There is an old saying: "If you dont have anything good to say, stay quiet". Your life will be a lot better if you employ it.

  • Konnyaku is a very firm jelly made from Konnyaku potatoes. It doesn't have much taste on it's own, but can absorb flavour from the recipe stock.

  • Can the "daikon" be substituted by the radish?

  • daikon and radish are the same

  • Thanks.

Because the "daikon" looked like the radish in the seen feeling.

  • yeah because radish is daikon in nihonggo..!!!

  • no daikon is big root in japanese, it's a variety of radish but it's not raddish in general

  • wow

  • Geisha's are old entertainment ladies. They don't have sex with the men who pay for them mostly. And what you said has nothing to do with the video anyway.

Thanks for the video, I'd love to cook it once, if I got time. It looks delicious.

  • a cute dog!!!! :D

  • God this made me so hungry :c

Time to hit up Matsuya's for some tonjiru

  • Dont recognise the cut of pork. The Japanese do seem to go in for very fatty pork.

  • Fatty meat is popular in Far Eastern cuisine.

  • neptunehaixing,

this is a japanese cooking vid and has

nothing to do with porn. think u r in

the wrong site. beside, ur culture

also eat raw fish and seaweed.

  • Don't worry about it, he's probably just soaked up some bad propaganda from his parents. To be honest Chinese cuisine isn't sophisticated itself.
