Whoo hoo I SOOOO lucked out back in 1993. Went to see Duran Duran and I didn't know who the opening act was. Turned out to be Sananda (Terence back in those days) That was the BEST concert I ever went to...I knew every song Sananda AND Duran sang. Considering alot of people in the US never got to see them, I feel lucky!
at the time this song came out i was in high school and would sing it around the house,my mom hated it,she didn't like the lyrics she kissed me and she put it there. she had my dad confront me about it and not sing it around the house anymore, lame, there are much worse songs i could of been singing.
The video is crazy as hell and you can't take your eyes off of it!!!!! Check out my band Of Dark Matter, the song is "Soul Mate" Love Peace and Metal!!!!!
TTD was genius here. Unlike Lenny and even Prince, the Sanand's is consistently great, and progresses creatively, which is something Lenny never gives me the impression he does. Prince just lost his mojo when TTD became SM. Sananda still has it! Peers, those three, but if you really listen to SM's complete body of work, he's the winner!
I'd love to see SM do some shows in the states again, maybe some key cities like NY, LA.
Please hear the entire catalog before calling this his best song. This man is a poetic genius who is far too prolific to have just one good song. The album Vibrator? my goodness. he keeps getting better. See 'Holding on to you'
Oh Yeh!!! Dream ON!!!!! He is so unbelievablly the greatest, and this is a sweet tune. Knew him as Terence Trent, You learn something new every day. "Wishing Well still my Fave' " Pece and Love!!
TTD/Sananda is the sh*t. The last cd I heard from him was Wildcard and that was terrific. Has anyone heard any of his recordings since then? Any good?
Damn i remember when this first came out in 92. It did that weird back and forth thing in your car speakers at the end of the song lol. damn seems like a hundred years ago now.
Terence trent Darby won 3 golden gloves boxing titles as a youth in the states before his musci career took off , amazing artist.

I've always liked this song. Great harmonies, cool vibe, great vocals, cool vid, etc. I'm pretty sure Beavis liked it too.

I was always blown away by this video. It was really ahead of it's time. This whole album was great & this song should have been a bigger hit.

I love the special effects in this video. They were pretty progressive in 1993. I almost forgot about this song.

I just hope that someday, I'll get to work with him. I could hear him singing/playing the Keane song "Let It slide," plus a whole bunch of others.
