@Lettich3407 Its based in Haddonfield Ill,,but they shot the movie in Ca,,John Carpenter stated he was worried because you could see palm trees and they are no palm trees in Illinois,and they had to buy leaves,(because maple trees didnt grow in ca),and have them shipped in and spread them around at the end of the day they would gather the leaves and reuse em for another shoot.I saw it in a behind the scenes Halloween special they did a few yrs ago.

@Kdogdude26 No... this is a relatively new location. Rent or buy "Halloween: 25 Years of Terror"... I own a copy and I believe that it has the original location information. I do remember from memory that it was physically moved by flatbed truck years ago. Hope this helps. "Halloween" and "Halloween II" both will rule forever!

Also, it was Debra Hill who was from Haddonfield New Jersey not Carpenter. I've been to this location a few times and it's legit. There's even a guy who built a replica of the Myers House in North Carolina - look it up.

ok let me start out by mentioning... this is not the house from the movie. that being said, the real house is in Pontiac Illinois. The reason it was named Haddonfield for the movie is because the writer, John Carpenter lived in Haddonfield New Jersey and decided to throw his own personal touch to the town. Anyway the real house has white pillars in the front. three windows to the right of the pillars and a garage connected to the house on the left. BUT I suggest you stay away. the owner gets mad

The front of the original house resembles a face due to window and door placement (one on each side up stairs, the door in the middle of the porch downstairs, and one window on either side of the front door.) Yes, it is a different color, but that is the right house. I've seen enough Halloween documentaries to know that everything from the movie was filmed either in LA or in Pasadena.
