My Grandma was born there and we went back last summer, and almost half of the population is Muslim. Marseille was once a beautiful city until the french abandoned it. It would be nice to go back to it while it was still french and not just a european Mecca. But once again the french don't give a shit. France used to be a beautiful country, but they let muslims take it over. Come see Marsaille sucha beautiful city where immigrants rioted in the streets and the french hid in their houses. Sad.

My brother from the USA came to visit and he complained about everything. He thought everyone was rude.

i'm french and can confirm marseille is the most dirty city in france ... of to a great extent has architecture occitane of the streets very narrowed by the centre, and by the cannebière, but especially poor habits of the generations of occitans, north Africain, and generations of Italians

another problem it is when people move of Marseilles it is poor habits to leave at the bottom of buildings the furniture which they do not want any more

In July I am coming to Marseille, and I will stay for about a week. Then I will travel from marseille to barcelona. Any ideas on how? Do you know any good places to stop in between and what I should travel with? I was thinking Id go by bus or train.. and I am planning to use about a week in between so that I can experience more and have time to stop. Anyone with ideas? I would really like some :)

Marseille is a nice place, but a lot more dirty and filthy than this video shows.I was quite surprised..But when it comes to what this video shows they are exactly the same.Our plan was to travel further down in france and see more of the french coastline. But after experiencing the french for a week... we went straight to spain.We took the train down to montpellier, were we had a train switch to Portbou, just inside the border of spain.From there you have to switch train again to get any place.
