I am no expert but this explanation of 2.5% approx Neanderthal Genes in non African pops does not sit well with me. I have no problem with being partially descended from Neanderthals, but if it was a small chance meeting that caused it, then why did the interbreeding not occur in greater numbers when a large pop of Mod humans lived right next to Neanderthals in europe etc. One assumes that if it were possible to interbreed, then this would have been a more likely point for it to happen.

I am no expert but this explanation of 2.5% approx Neanderthal Genes in non African pops does not sit well with me. I have no problem with being partially descended from Neanderthals, but if it was a small chance meeting that caused it, then why did the interbreeding not occur in greater numbers when a large pop of Mod humans lived right next to Neanderthals in europe etc. One assumes that if it were possible to interbreed, then this would have been a more likely point for it to happen.

I am a shame to say this, but I must put it out there, since Neanderthal genome is not found in Africans, there is a strong possibility Africans and Neanderthal interbreed and produced offspring called Cro-Magnon; this explains why the Modern Caucasoid are partly Neanderthal.
