When I see less than 10k viewers it makes me sad cos I know that today kidds dont know much about the real art of hip hop. But Im happy because I know Im the one of 9200 who knows the origin of hip hop and if u ask me, I would always pick this instead of Wayne and other "rappers" who make rimes about ass poppin' and tits fuckin' (pardon my French).
@Masharaga i'm a young old rocker ( grew up in the 60's ) but if you were to ask me for my "top ten" list, this would surely be included. i can't be bothered with these "rappers" today cause they "can't touch this".....
It's such a shame rap has gone backwards and been taken over by the "simple"...I guess it's easy to write about how you can find me in a club bottle full of bud.
I was in college when this song came out and the school I attended had no BLACK radio station! I had to wait until I came home to STL to hear it. GMF are a group who will forever be connected with the start of HIP-HOP!!!
I miss my baby...she goes by the name of Hip Hop!

The lyrics are as relevant today as there were in 1983. Last verse is deep.

Im proud the be the third person to comment.
This track is not just a song it is a PIECE OF MUSIC HISTORY.
The youth of today have no clue about songs like this.
Songs like this is what built rap music.
