Wow nice work! Man those servos must have cost a pretty penny. I had the idea to do a spherical hexapod a few months back but I couldn't get over the lack of movement the legs would have with the spherical parts attached. A morphing body is the perfect solution!

This project is really looking amazing. One thing that occurred to me was that if you put a curved rack and pinion system on the lower sections, each leg could reach farther out. FWIW, this might be helpful for you: kmoddl.library.cornell.edu

@DeadlyDad I'm not sure what you mean. But if you look at the MorpHex part 1 video you'll see that the body expand almost twice in diameter, giving each leg more space for movement.
