Its funny how 1 note in a song can take you back in time. For me it's 1973. My first yr in High School. Thats the first time i lisoned to Elton. Been a fan all my life. People talk all the crap they want about him being Gay I dont care. I dont need to sleep with him to love his music.

Music can't even be properly defined anymore, it's just anything that is recorded in hollywood by any peice of garbage who can afford a studio. Seriously, In previous generations, music had a very explicit definition; A strategic arrangement of instruments that produces an enjoyable listening experience. Todays "music" doesn't even always include instruments anymore, nor is it enjoyable.

Every now and then i shut down and withdrawal from music altogether. Shit, I'll even put talk raido in the car. After a month or so of no music, when my ears feel retuned and ready to hear music, I sit down by myself with a bottle of wine, maybe even a joint or two and sift through records from my and my parents collection. This song usually always gets played. Songs like this spark a raw emotion triggering a moment in memory that your glad it did whether good or bad. thanks E.J.

Up and coming musicians need to understand great music and what it takes to make it--hard study and practice like Elton John did at the Royal Academy of Music. It doesn't happen in a vacuum. Music isn't dead... you just have to work hard now to find it. Corporate Radio is dead. Corporate Labels are dead music. Everyone interested in the art of music has differing tastes that they end up buying differing music. Mainstream music is for those who sit in their car and need white noise to distract them. They buy the same music cuz it doesn't really matter to them. Big labels make their dough on the "white noise" and fire the "art of music" artists cuz they are outsold 10,000 to 1.

I've heard so many people make fun of this guy for being gay. I've always looked at him for what I've seen. He seems to be a good man and he's written songs that I still enjoy all these years later.
