Haha! I filmed and cut this video for this company!! Not watched it in aaaaaaaages!! I'd never filmed on a track before.....it's tricky to get the shots.....especially without getting splatted!! All in all still like it, a few ropey edits and i'm not sure that mirror effect works early on but hey....live n learn! I got to do a few laps on the track too, wicked car to drive loads of fun :-)
one of these came up beside me and my m8 today, reving his tiny little engine, we both left him behind in a volvo 850 t5 and a jeep commander 3.0 diesel, we both had the lead over the clio, but it slowly (VERY SLOWLY) crawled passed the commander, but i was pulling away from the both of them all the way down the street in the volvo, he was pissed when he caught back up with us waiting at the lights, silly 18 year old,
i didnt say the commander beat the clio, i said it was in the lead for about 5-6 seconds after the start, the 850 t5 has double the torque, more than enough to pull the cars heavy body past the clio,and has a larger engine capacity, and makes more HP than the clio aswell and tops out at around 165mph,170 with the limiter removed,much more than the clio, so along the mile we were racing i continued pulling away at speeds way past 140mph,the clios top speed... around a track yes the clio would win
@dergangedchipmunk. so the torque of the t5 is 340ft. i don,t fucking think so. it,s not that much in RS500. have you ever thought you was racing against yourself and the guy in the 200 was laughing his ass off watching you drive your hurst like a nob.lol.
@santclause1 the 2.5 liter 5 cylinder turbo t5 -r makes 267 foot pounds of torque, with a chip adding 90-100 more NM of torque it was making over 300 foot pounds of torque, and i dont think the amount of screaming his little 2.0 was doing just to get past the jeep was "laughing his ass off" he couldnt go any faster then 140 mph, i was doing 160. i was going 20 mph faster, so i won, why is that so hard to get into your thick skull ?
@dergangedchipmunk Seems to me, judging by your comments on other videos, you dont like the clio. Well i can tell you it takes a shit on your 3 litre Jeep and a lot of other vehicles for a lot more money. Drive one before you judge one.
this conversation doesnt concern you, please keep your nose in your own. i know it takes a shit on my 3.0 diesel jeep, i said the jeep had a lead of about 5 seconds off of the lights, and i have driven one, its cheap chincy plastic and tacky and isnt as sporty as i like in small cars, it doesnt push you into the back of your seat like the 850 t5-r does, i cant lean forward when i plant my foot to the floor in the t5-r, i tried it in the clio and it just didnt feel the same,

@dergangedchipmunk That's slightly better, but you did forget many full stops etc. Anyway, back to the car. How is it not as sporty as you like in a hatchback? Also, it obviously isn't going to push you into your seat, it doesn't have that much power. If you want more power, get the new Megane 250.
I don't think the suspension is stiff maybe it's the best comfortable soft suspension you can find in a sports car and it sticks to the road yes it's really for fun I don't know how they manage this but its like playing a computer game
would one of you guys please mail me one of these to the us of a we cant get anything exciting in this fukd country i guess its a sin to have a fun auto on these shores
It looks nice in green copying the focus rs a bit though :-p I wonder if the new megane 250 will come in Alien green aswell. Along with the "RS" badge hehe naughty naughty Renault.
