The reason why Earth is so important is that its the last remaining human stronghold and is the location of the forunner artifact that would open a portal to the ark

they didnt know earth had a forrunner relic until the covenant appeared and dug it all up and there were plenty of UNSC strongholds such as reach which in my opinion was 10 times better than earth more than half of the base was underground and so far down covenant couldnt destroy it from orbit less they destroy the planet totaly leaving nothing but debris of the planet

Yeah the elites fight beside you but it only feels like your fighting with elites if you play 4 player co-op which makes legendary a joke, but does create some epic moments.

in halo 1 there are so many elites, halo 2 just as much elites. halo 3, there are barely any elites fighting with you. mostly humans.

actually in halo 3 there a quite a few elites on your side, halo 1 and 2 is basicly a fight between human and elites (and brutes) halo 3 is all about humans and elites fighting brutes

A squad of marines can usually take out an equal ordinary covenant squad (1-2 brutes, couple of jackals and grunts), but they usually do that with grenades, they once took out a Brute Chieftain for me. And they start throwing more grenades if you have catch on.

On the ARK, I watch the ODSTs fight the enemy ALONE, they can survive for a long while, before they die. they usually die to grenades. on easy they barely kill anything, they just stand around. on heroic, they don't live as long as normal, but they still put up a better fight. On legendary they don't stand a chance.on different difficulties the marines skill levels change. anyways, the marines are capable of doing it on they're own, just not the whole level.

I like how there are so many different marines in Halo 3. In Halo 1 it was always the same 5 or 6 guys, in Halo 2 most of them basically looked the same.
