Actually, a vast majority of voters who couldn't vote for Nader would write him in. However, thanks to the herculean efforts from the Nader/Gonzalez community, 45 states will have the opportunity vote for Ralph. The few states that will have to settle for write-in status will write them in. This is quite evident in the past with exit polls from both 2000 and 2004.

Even if for some freakish reason write-ins didn't exist, I'd vote for McKinney! But NEVER McCain.

Bob Barr was here july 15 (petition deadline) filing a lawsuit to challenge the oklahoma ballot, hopefully nader will too or join with barr...

Hello, if he had not voted for FISA 2008, there would still be allowance for the President to monitor wire tap programs. This was the big step in FISA 2008. Its all about incremental progress that leads to bigger progress. With today's situation, thats all we can expect. Major change would not be supported, leaving us with the old stuff.

Part 1: This isn't even minor change in the right direction. Look up the ACLU lawsuit w/ regard to FISA to find out why. FISA increased the time allowed for warrantless surveillance to continue from 48 hours to 7 days. Unlimited surveillance of the communications and conversations of American citizens by the federal government could be initiated by only the allegation of intent, regardless of fact.

FISA gave the gov't more power to abuse civil rights and free speech, and gov't always eventually abuses a power when it's been given the ability to do so. It's important to realize what FISA really does vs. what the politicians SAY it does. Abusive acquisition of information under FISA could conceivably be used to intimidate or suppress organizations or individuals in opposition to the governing administration, similar to The Sedition Acts of 1918 & 1798.

Both Sedition Acts quelled free speech so people could not speak up against the current party/president in power. The one in 1798 to the beginning of courts protecting constitutional rights of the individual from abuse by majority rule or the gov't--an important check on the other two branches. The legislature is SUPPOSED to also check the president, but the Democratically dominated legislature let us down by basically letting Bush do whatever the hell he wanted.

All of the previous is why I support Nader's run as well as The Libertarian Party (Bob Barr). Both are much better than the Democratic and Republican Parties have become. Obama's whole "Hope for Change" campaign is a complete farce. Change doesn't happen by HOPING it will happen. It happens through action, and Obama has shown a distinct lack of willingness for action toward change through his voting. McCain, of course, is even worse. It makes no sense to vote for the lesser of two evils.

He is not selling out on every issue. A bit of compromise is indeed necessary if any progress at all will be made. A compromising Obama is much better than a non-compromising McCain. Petitioning to put Nader/Gonzalez on the Connecticut state ballot is the most important experience I have had. Through petitioning you see the true nature of the human being.
