  • Banjo came to america through africans. The indian subcontinent has its own skin fronted string instruments too which evolved independently and way before american banjo.

  • WOW! An unbeatable duo!! I was lucky to see John Hartford at the Paul Greene Theatre in Chapel Hill, North Carolina in the 1980s or 1990's where he played banjo, guitar, and fiddle and his FEET accompanied his other instruments while playing the WASHBOARD. He was fantastic and I still treasure his 33 LPs. WOW! I love Johnny Cash and John Hartford.

  • Norman Blake on mandolin, I believe.

  • that's David Grisman on mandolin, too! Right?

  • @jmperkel1 or I'm seeing on another posting it is Tim O'brien? Never would have guessed that...

  • I clicked on it to see Hartford and Cash, and what a treat to see Clements and Blake too... awesome vid!

  • I love this.... Thank you so much!

  • Norman Blake and Vassar Clements. This is some band.

  • It's MONROE....not MUNROE....the best ever......

  • After watching this for the 100th time i'd still say "Woww"
