The fact is: Houdini was an athlete when he was young and a highly trained escape artist. He truly make that sort of challenges, as many of the magicians that follows their steps today.

Just because it is filmed it doesn't mean it is edited with a computer. There are magicians that are skilled and doesn't need that kind of trickery (well, maybe except for Criss Angel, LOL).
