@zeusdereus1212 Wo, wo, wo. Why the hostility bro. I never said anything about him advancing the human race in terms of intellectual greatness. I just admire him for living as close to the edge as he did-living for the moment!!! You're right "he lived his life on his own terms" which is all any of us can hope for.
@silicon605 how much you guys wanna bet this guy ^ is george bush sitting behind his macbook? lols. what the fuck does the military have to do with anything dude?
@silicon605 The fact of life is that we will all die but Dan Osman lived his life more fully than 99% of humanity. You call him stupid when I say all the retards that enlist into the armed forces are stupid because they blindly follow orders from similarly retarded individuals for what?! So that we can live in "peaceful" world?! Evil begets evil my friend.
Awesome guy I wish I could have met him. I hope his heart was right with Jesus Christ and he didn't die in his sins. I wonder if he felt anything when he hit the ground or it was probably so quick he didnt feel anything. Also when he knew he was gonna die I wonder if he thought about his daughter.
to all the pot holder makers out there dan is a badass. ill meet u the top of L cap and we wil c ...... the man died doing what he loved ..... so make me a pot holder i can hang off my bq.....cuss thats all u can do
Dan osman was the biggest legend in any aspect of climbing. he was a naturalist, peace loving human being who really lieved life to the fullest. i know that everybody wishes he was still alive, but im sure he wouldnt have wanted to die any other way than doing what he loves. RIP Dano
This guy is best and most skilled climber i ever saw , and will prob stay like it forever. But we need to admit that no matter for his true passion for mountains and joy of climbing .... he was fanatic and crazy , and nobody likes fanatics. He is dead now , and daughter is now alone. He didnt showed respect for others and people who riske thier lives like that sooner or later will end like Dan. Having no fear like this is not normal and he more crazy then hero.
I wouldn't say that's a totally fair assessment of his death, to say he risked his life is somewhat misguided, while he did do extreme jumps, he used safety equipment, in a similar way to having air bags installed in cars, or having a harness on a roller coaster. The only reason you consider this so extreme and dangerous is because it's not an everyday task, when in reality, the activities we do every day and which are viewed as so average can pose a very similar scale of risk.
@dukenukem360 --------i bet u never did any climbing. maybe u climbed in to ur bmw after ur your dog pissed on ur leg at the dog park. after u say dan was that and his poor daughter that. no what i say-------potholders start making potholders because thats all u are good at....

Yay for Dan he was so great, I am sure all this bullshit hero worship makes his daughter feel so much better about having no dad now.
"HEY! LOOK AT ME! ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME? I CAN'T PAY A FUCKING PARKING TICKET OR MANAGE TO KEEP MY DRIVER'S LICENSE IN DATE BUT DAMN I CAN CLIMB UP A HILL REAL GOOD. OOPS I AM DEAD, SORRY DAUGHTER!"
@LCPStud Stfu he died doing what he loved I'm sure people won't say that about you. But oh yeah you have a nice bank account and can pay for your license and parking tickets so that makes you a much better person right? This man has inspired people to achieve greatness no matter how impossible the obstacles might be. The world needs more people like Dan Osman and less people like you. Now go back to your cubicle slave your boss needs you to earn their salary.
@bleedingxhearts2 Yea, that would be his pro (protection) popping like a bad zit. As an experienced climber, one piece blowing is probably one of the scariest things you can experience; let alone many at once. In a climbers eyes, Dan Osman is a legend greater than Hercules, and has moved on to take his spot with the climbing gods. RIP Dano
I'm not a rock climber and this is the first time i see Dan's video. At 10:11 my eyes got a little watery in a very manly kind of a way. Some might say he was crazy but all I can say is: RESPECT
Dan Osman certainly was a legendary climber , but his death is not one bit surprising. There is a reason bungee jumpers use bungee cord and not climbing rope.
@baisleyde he was not bungee jumping, he was slack jumping. The reason he died was because when they had to cancel the original jump and they decided to leave the equipment rather than hike back down with it. Rain and snow sat on the equipment. Bungee rope or not, you don't want your equipment with that stuff on it
@gfen1021 he died because on his last jump of that day he changed the angle before he jumped off and accidentally went over the safety line which then got cut by the friction heat. it's true, though, that the gear was exposed to snow and rain on the mountain, but he did 2 previous jumps that day, so i don;t think that had anything to do with it at all.
It usually takes one person to pave the way, and a bunch of others follow. Dan's last jump was 12 years ago. I haven't heard of anybody else doing what he did, and I don't expect to for some time.
Is really sad for me that dan died but from first time i saw his videos until today he is my inspiration when i feel fear before some hardcore thing i always think about dan osman and this give me power.

personal evolution and self realisation is as important as knowledge,
but reading you're reaction i guess that's chinese for you.
get you're head out of you're ass and smell the roses.
maybe you'll then understand why he's a legend.

to @TYREL2010 wtf you idiot.
there is more to live then you're brainwashed way of live.
he risked his live on his own terms, not to fill the wallets of a few who's propaganda sells freedom and peace. you're a slave without even realize it.
THIS DID NOTHING TO FURTHER MANKIND IN TERMS INTELLECTUAL GREATNESS AND HINDSIGHT--- he was not doing math so why the comparrison.
his force is mental and the first one who tried for exemp. a parachute had probably the same disposition .
