  • more like a Hungarian fartasy!

  • GREAT PIECE

    and great playing !

  • can you PLEASE post the Legnani Fantasia too? I LOVE the recording you have on your website, the video would be very nice!Thank you

  • The tempo for the Allegro section at the end is awful.

  • how is it awful?

  • I wish I had "bad tempo" like Mr. Perroy!

  • No se sabe cuando termina de afinar y cuando empieza la obra.

  • Yes,This interpretation has bad moments, but that augers well for him.Already he is not afraid to risks and mold the tune to his view.

This is better than listening to the typical

    conservative interpretation which,while always

    pleasing...never moves one.

Furthermore his rubato is absolutely in keeping with the way Mertz

and his contemporaries played music.Doubt it?

Listen to the 78s recorded by those born in the

1820's and 1830s.They make his interpretation

    seem conservative.

  • This is one of the worst interpretations I have ever seen. I thought this guy one the GFA. I have his video and it's better than this.

  • Those are some compelling reasons you listed there.

  • I think the 5 1/2 hours of tuning at the beginning really adds something.

But seriously, it's good to hear the piece -- people don't play enough of Mertz. I'm doing the Tarantelle to close my senior recital in two months... maybe I'll throw the video on here if I don't screw it up.

As far as the playing goes, JESUS CHRIST!

  • woulda been great, but the audio quality sucks

  • That is the "Fantasia Hongaroise" by J.K. Mertz!!!!

  • Legnani???
